You guys need to know that both Barca and Bayern are not yet knocked out. They might hope for miracles. Something, 'ray of hope' type.

*Cough* While from group A, even the last ones can do appalling stuff if they do most of their opportunities and if the fate is with them. Come on, I would love to see my leagues being more peerless.:p

Good to know that we're still undefeated along with PSG & Porto. Hope fully we can continue our undefeated streak. Group C really shaped up to be the "group of death" , But I'm glad that we made it through.:yes

FC Barcelona 2 - 2 Liverpool

image.png

FC Barcelona's starting lineup

image.png

Liverpool's starting lineup

image.png

Stephan El Shaarawy opened the scoring in the ealiest minutes. It was a well composed goal produced after 5-6 top class passes, absolutely majestic team work.

image.png

Stephan El Shaarawy who scored in this very important fixture, was celebarting scoring of the goal.

image.png

A few minutes later there was a counter attack from Barcelona in response to visitor's early goal; and Leo Messi came to find the equalizer in the end of that counter attack.

image.png

Messi created a chance himself with his solo skill but just lacked good finishing in the end as the ball hit the bar and went off. Otherwise it would have been one of the best goals game has ever seen.

image.png

At the end of first half, both teams were equaled sharing 2 goals 1-1.

image.png

David Villa came on as a substitute.

image.png

As soon as he joined the field, he was involved in couple of counter attacks. In one of those counter attack, Villa just just failed to produce the goal from a header.

image.png

A tactical change by Barcelona's manager as the team wasn't settling with a draw.

image.png

Substitution frorm the away bench, manager trying to strengthen his midfield with the introduction of Miguel Veloso.

image.png

David Villa's strong header passed the goal keeper and pushed his team in one goal lead.

image.png

It's always pleasure to score, and even more joyous if you do the job after coming as on a substitute.

image.png

Leo Messi seemed very dangerous in late minutes.

image.png

Whoa! Carlos Vela did score a brilliant volleyd goal before 2 minutes to the full time whistle. A draw here would surely secure their place into next round.

image.png

And in this important decider, Liverpool had the advantage with one point for qualifying into knock-out stages.

image.png

Borussia Dortmund's starting lineup.

image.png

Manchester City's starting lineup.

image.png

Joe Hart had a brilliant challenge earlier and he responded with an even better save.

image.png

Ashley Cole tackling Marco Reus.

image.png

Angel Di Maria had an easiest chance of scoing from here, but it could be his worse day that keeper judged the direction of the shot and kept the ball out of danger.

image.png

Stevan Jovetic scored on his chance, beating the keeper with a flat right bottom finish.

image.png

As soon as he did score, he went down to the flag to celebrate scoring.

image.png

What a finish was that by Samir Nasri to bag the second goal for his team. With goal coming just before the half time whistle, Borussia put themselves in a massive position.

image.png

Nasri time and time again tried to be tricky and break opponent's defense.

image.png

As the first half time whistle was blown, visitors were down by two goals.

image.png

Julian Draxler went off being substituted.

image.png

Movements on the benches from both dug-outs.

image.png

Marco Reus lately had a good strike but that wasn't enough to net the goal.

image.png

Yaya Toure was the man in action.

image.png

This is how it ended. Borussia Dortmund fixed their spot in round of 8s with that home victory.
