this cricket 2004 is a peice of crap.

i think it behaves differently with different PCs.

I agree 100% with that. Many times(many many times) problems are solved only after a fresh (re)install.

Ok i was having trouble getting any edges and have tried everything, then i watched a few shots in slow mo and wondered if you like i have had tweaked shots so scoring is a bit easier,i.e.made the direction range wider which i had done, anyway i set the direction range back on a lot of my shots then set cpuballsfaced, battingmatchtype, tacticdefend all on 0,and i have been getting some nice edges, not over edging just evry now and then, quite real actually,i dont know this might help...

Tutsi
this might help
the ODI matches do not use the normal settings like the test matches. It uses the CPU pacing files. If you go through them you will note that most of the overs the likelyhood of playing a moderate or aggressive shot is high. Defence shots probability is almost zero.
if you go through the edge files all the edges are of type defensive except for 2 edges ( edge default and edge 1 )
that could explain it.
TO tell you the truth I changed the CPU pacing file to include more defensive shots.
will let you know if it makes a difference

I am using tutsi's patch sense then when i have installed the patch i dont get any i mean any edges. That is why is said tutsi's patch sucks but then i shouldnt have because i used other patches too but no difference at all.

Why dont u release two patches- one for one days and one for tests with different edge values for both. I used to get edges with your 7.1 patch on a green top but they slowly disappeared from the others...

I tried changing the values in the cpu pacing file to include more defensive shots in the hope of getting more edges ... to no avail.
also tried a reinstall but no go.
Ive never got an edge in an ODI before or after installing patches.
