I downloaded the graphics importer from a link to c2005 downloads and it seems to be the one for cricket 2004 which I assume is ok, however when I load it I cant see any images of anything and when I click on some things I get an error, something about an overflow error?

No the Graphics Importer is for Cricket 2004 and does not work for Cricket 2005. See http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/showthread.php?t=11327 and this http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10997 for Cricket 2005 editing.
