This isn't that bad a batting performance for day 2 at Newlands, but that would probably change with more wickets before stumps. England's bowling in the first innings means it is still up to South Africa to assert themselves, something a long time coming in this series.

Well it was pretty good from England to come back from where they were at one point but you would still have to be disappointed that neither Cook nor Bell pushed on for a big score although they steadied things admirably at a crucial time. Once again Bell doesn't disprove the criticism of him not being able to get the big one when the team is under huge pressure. Good game though!

SA slight favourites for me. If you're batting 4th you're always going to be under more pressure and SA would hope to set a target of at least 300 - a lot of time left in this match still.
