Thinking about it, is it really worth county teams having England team members in their ranks? I know it raises the profile for the county team but this season some counties have hardly seen their players at all.
Well it doesn't cost the counties any money because of central contracts, and for example players like Panesar plays quite a bit of county cricket because he doesn't play odis.
County sides pretty much regard these players as a bonus when they are available so there's no real problem. I would like to see them released a bit more often though, you really only get to see them if they are coming back from injury or if they've been dropped. But its good for both the County system and the England side as it stands.

I think that having the England guys in county teams is helpful for a number of reasons. If they are returning from injury, need match practice or are just free to let them play cricket. The counties enjoy having the internationals in their ranks as well.
I have to admit, if I was playing county cricket and an international came back after playing for England and took my place in the side after doing well, I would be devastated!! This does happen and will continue to happen.
