error code 8

Hi ive got rpic (i bought it btw) installed and all no probs then i went to play it and i get this error saying "internal error when accessing one of the applications libraries: error code 8) I can fix it tempereraly by going to utils on the cd and running sfclean.exe however when i reinstall the pc the error returns. can anyone helP?

I've not heard of this error before. Try Codemasters Customer support as they are generally very helpful.

Have you got any viruses/spyware by which I mean have you checked for them?

no i dont however i looked the meaning of the error up and it said

Several different error messages can be displayed for this error code. This code means that the device loader (DevLoader) for a device could not be found. For example, the .inf file for the device may refer to a missing or invalid file.

is this saying i need to update my dvd rom drives drivers?
