Extending player names/Editing

When creating a new player, is there a way to get more than eight or nine letters for their name? I can' seem to get anything more than a few letters in.

Also, is there a way to edit players? How?

I sorted this problem for people with Rugby 2005. When I buy the game at some point I will work on a player editor to extend player names. I think you can have 16 letters.
