favourite Cricket commentators

Although Healy acts as an expert on batting and bowling, not really his strengths. I cannot remember listening to him talk about keeping.

I've heard him comment about keeping when it's brought up. He usually just says keep low, watch the ball etc.

Obviously you don't take his advice on batting on board :)

i love listening to the radios coverage while watching the tv coverage with no volume and i love Kerry O'Keefe i love 1. His laugh and 2. His stories relating to things in the cricket sometimes and 3.His insights etc.

Anyone heard Trevor(Taa-reee-vaar) Quirk? Wilko really imitates him well. I found this line very funny:

Quirk to Pollock: Why do birds fly upside down in Blomfontein?
Quirk: Because there is nothing to see in Blomfontein!

That accent is amazing.

But, it's amazing listening to Alan Donald and Wasim Akram. They know so much about bowling. Also, I love Symcox's murder thriller type stories, especially those about Durban. He's got a bag full of them! I'd not be surprised if Symcox is picked as a permanent ESPN-STAR commentator.

I think ESPN-STAR should get Boycott back at any cost! Apart from being a Ganguly fan, Geoff is a great commentator.

Wasim talks a lot of sense, but the problem is that he doesnt really have a very good grip over the language and fumbles too often.
I love Symcox :D
But, my top 5 would include Harsha,Sunny Gavaskar, Boycott, Bill Lawry and Tony Greig.
I found this when I googled for Trevor Quirk.

Whenever he was in the English commentary box he was normally very complimentary about Read, and they normally tried to ask him about keeping. I guess there isn't rearlly much to say about Gilchrist.

Here are some of Trevor's gems.

"Alan Kourie looks calm, but inside his chest beats a heart" -
Trevor Quirk during a tense B&H game.

"And there`s the George Headly Stand, named after George Headly"
Trevor Quirk during the test between WI and SA at Bridgetown.
