Please god shut the New Zealand commentators up! PLEASE!

Why may I ask?

My Favorites:

(NZ)
Ian Smith
Jeremy Coney

And

Michael Holding
Bumble
Most of the Channel 9 team.

I also find David Llyod to be a funny commentaitor. His voice is unique in an english way.

Justin Lang-GAH and Math-YA Aiden.

Classic.

Im unfortunatly part of the small group of Mark Nicholas lovers. I didnt listen to him much before hand, but i bought the 2005 Ashes series which he commentates over, and he is fantastic, also the DVD which came with the ICC Ashes edition 2006, Ashes Fever is its name.

Other commentators i like listening to,

Obviously Richie Benaud, because he is a legend
Ian Botham, Nassar Hussian and other Ex-Players

The commentator i have to stay around for no matter what is Bumble, he is a legendary commentator and born comedian!

Id have to turn the TV down if Bob Willis is on, he moans and has no humour or exageration, he does nothing for me, especially if its 4AM in the morning, i need a bit of commentary to keep me interested

Bob Willis isn't too popular. was he even in skys ashes coverage?

As i've already mentioned, I just like Nasser Hussain because he's interesting and whenever he's in the commentary box he gets the mickey taken out of him for being tight with his money.

Bob Willis is the best by far, his rants are classic.

Boy they pushed the toss joke didnt they, after Nasser's very stupid choice to field, but give him credit, the wicket did have a tad of green

i thought the dicussion about the toss ended 4 years ago ;)
did you hear about the Xmas presents they bought for each other. Hussain got a wallet with a lock on it and Atherton got some deoderant

I quite like Bob, but he's permanently grumpy. A bowler could take 20 wickets for no runs and he'd still find a problem with him to whinge about.

I like:
Nasser
Deano
Holding
Ian Bishop
Gavaskar
Waz and Shaz
Bhogle
Symcox
Allen Donald
David Lloyd

Maybe more, but can't remember ATM.

I like these commentators:

  • Richie Benaud
  • David Gower
  • Michael Atherton
  • Nasser Hussain
  • David Llyod

i heard brian lara doing a bit of commentary on sky the other day. he was good although it was more ian botham just asking him questions about the world cup

Michael Slater and Ian Healy !

Michael Slater is excellent, he did very well in the 05 Ashes series and he's done very well in the current series. He is a commentator that should be admired by all, he's not biased at all and can also add excitement when the game is in its dull stages.

Ian Healy on the other hand is quite possibly the most atrocious commentator ever tbh. He speaks as if he knows the game inside out especially in the batting department where his record in international cricket doesn't represent a batting master. He is extremely biased towards the Australians and it's all so conspicuous. He attempts to make jokes which are remotely funny and goes over the top when an Australian player achieves a milestone but when an opposition players achieve a milestone he goes quiet.

To me the best commentator is Mark Nicholas who is an excellent addition to the commentary team, his voice is good and is unbiased as m_vaughan said preciously.

Others that are great to listen to are Michael Holding, David Lloyd, Jeremy Conney, Dean Jones and Michael Atherton. Also does the analyst from Channel 4 count :D
