For some reason I like playing as James Bond 007. I have 2 007 games (both on Nintendo 64) and it feels good having an immense amount of gadgetry with you - and you get to use it! Wouldn't it be fun having a watch stunner or a golden gun?
Other mentions are Mario (obvious where that has come from) and Sam Fisher. (from Splinter Cell - sorta like 007 where you have alot of cool stuff to play with on your enemy)

I used to be a HUGE fan on the Mario games and I know my favourite was always Toad

Sephiroth and Vincent from FFVII ... although at different times of playing through that game, and on the many occassions I've played it through it has been pretty much all of them at some stage or another except Yuffie and Cait Sith.

Sonic and Tails until they spoke on a cartoon version

I was always Toad in Mario Kart, but only because he was a short-ass like me.

Conker from Conkers Bad Fur Day, there was a character who could make me laugh.

Finally I'd have to say Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid. I feel I'm forgetting a few but definately Sephiroth and Vincent are two of my all time favourites.

Sephiroth was always a pretty cool dude, and tidus a nice guy aswell. I always drifted in and out of the ff series, once you sit down you cant stop, but its so hard to start in the first place

i forgot the name of the character, but it was the main character of the game MAFIA, will put the name later but as MAFIA is my fav. game so its the guy who played main role in that is my fav. character.
