Umm, how is that right? Gilchrist hit 29 sixes in the tournament. 7 more than any other player.

well that maximum number of sixes was for that match only!

^ Just 4 awards were given!

medals were presented to the players of all runners up team and also to the winning team along with match refree and umpires!

forgot to mention that the orange cap(Hayden) and the purple cap(RP) were given also!

The kingfisher fair play award was also given and it went to the KXIP.

and as usual the runners up cheque was given to the RCB!

finally the trophy was handed over to the winning team.

well i agree with this but consider the pressure on the players when they came in to bat!
Most of the time when Raina came out to bat, the super kings were in a good position thanks to superb starts by Hayden! Hence the pressure is considerably less.

But Rohit on the other side most of the times came to bat at a time when DC was on the verge of losing! He had immense pressure on his shoulders as he batted almost always with the lower order batsman and took the team to a winning position from what seemed like impossible to win situations!

A thrille of a match indeed. Ojha and Harmeet bowled really. The wicket of Ross Taylor and ljust later Virat Kohli was turning pin of the match.

How ironic, that the team finishing last last season, came first this season.

Chennai and Rajasthan should feel hard done by because they couldnt get the chance to contest in the Champions League last year and this year, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Delhi have got into that league.

At least they had a fair chance to get there. My boys the Titans would have been there last year but missed out on the pro 20 this year in SA because in the group stages 3 of our games got rained out.

Personally I want Deccan to win this year's league.

But also I think BRC deserve it cos they've come back (especially after last years failure)

So although I want Deccan to win it I think if the BRC play well then they can take the crown.

Some people consider it a farce because deep in them, they are sulking that none from their country played in the IPL. We saw that the IPL captured the interest of every other cricketing nation. It ruffled feathers when a current cricket captain said that he wouldnt mind if test cricket was overshadowed by T20 cricket (this guy goes late for international duty to accomodate more days for IPL). We have seen international overseas players celebrate wins as if they are playing for their country. The passion that the IPL has generated is tremendous!

Its possibly the world's biggest domestic cricketing success. Dont care if some consider it a farce. As you said, the second half of the
IPL was brilliant (kept me hooked although I felt some games looked like fixed to keep the interest quotient up).

Edit: This final closing ceremony is going too long. Has the main presentation ceremony been done with or is it going to come after this? I am waiting to see Gilly lift that IPL trophy.
Did I watch the IPL last year? No.

And Pakistani players played in that edition, so you can please stfu.

Yes, I took note of their performances on Cricinfo, just as I do for county cricket. Now if that is "interest" in the IPL, then by God, I was interested in the IPL last season. But I never watched a single game unless a short clip was shown on the news last season.

So honestly, you can shut your mouth, since I honestly don't think you're in a position to judge me or what I do :)
