Yes Spain were better and on balance probably deserved to win but Webb got so much wrong. Yes a number of cards were deserved and Nigel de Jong could have been sent off but my word.............................................

I'd blame the players for the amount of cards not Webb. Pretty dire first half both teams constantly fouling.

He did miss that deflection but to be honest the Netherlands should have been down to 9 or 8 men and Spain were the better team.

But you saw some of the dives Spain took? At least three of those cards were for diving. I am not saying Holland played well but the referee choked the game as well.

Andres Iniesta was the real playmaker. Casillas was awesome as well. He was exceptional whilst saving the two one-on-one strikes from Robben. Carlos Puyol and Pique played like champs. Top class defending. Sergio Ramos coupled with Fabregas outdid many Dutch attacks by constantly counter-attacking them. And, not to forget that assist by Torres!!

On that other hand, it was looking as if the Dutch were playing for the yellow cards and not the Cup!

That says it all. Spain have shown the world that they're ranked the #1 team for a reason.

Not really. Didn't think that there was that much diving to be honest. A lot less than in other matches in the tournament like every game that involved Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo. I swear he was on the floor more than he was stood up.

Robben had to score that chance but Spain were definitely better on the night. The less said about the Dutch tactics the better.

I don't understand why they were so negative. Going forward they have the likes of Sneijder, Van Persie and Robben yet they seemed more than happy sitting back kicking lumps out of the Spaniards.

Overall the best playing team won. Spain played a style of football that is simply brilliant very few players are technically capable of playing with such touch and yet Spain have a team of them.

Very, very happy Spain won. They were the better side and Holland just didn't deserve it the way they played. Some absolutely shocking tackles, that kung fu kick by de Jong was just dreadful. Van Bommel should have gone as well.

Overall I thought Howard Webb did an excellent job. He didn't want to see peop,e sent off which is better than flashing red cards left, right and centre. The Dutch were just looking for someone else to blame other than themselves. They didn't even appeal for the foul before Spain's goal until 20 seconds after the goal went in. Plus they had 4 chances to win the ball back in the attack.

In the end, the right team won. Sad to see the World Cup end now.

Arjen Robben is a professional diver, he went to ground a lot in the first half at least. Great dribbler though.
