Australia started slowly but finished strong in their batting innings but will they be able to hold off Ireland's batting attack?
Over 1
The first over was bowled by Wrist Spinner Adam Zampa bowling the first ball to William Porterfield which was chipped straight to Patrick Cummins in 1st slip leading Ireland to be 1/0 after the very first ball. bringing Sean Terry to the crease. The 2nd ball is played to a fielder at square leg for a single putting Paul Stirling on strike. The 3rd ball is driven to deep mid on for 1. 4th again to the fielder at deep square leg for a single placing Stirling on strike, who again plays a shot to deep mid on the 5th ball for another single leaving Terry to face the final ball of the over, the 6th ball goes again to deep mid on for a single. at the end of the over, Sean Terry is on 3 and Paul Stirling is on 2. leaving Ireland at 1/5 with Adam Zampa's bowling statistics at 1-5 also.
Over 2
Pat Cummins steps up to take the ball from the opposite end with Terry facing the 1st ball, the first ball goes for a dot with a shot from the bowling team for LBW, this appeal is given not out and the decision is not reviewed by Australia, the 2nd ball of the over was edged through to the keeper after an off spin delivery and is given out and not reviewed by Ireland sending Sean Terry on his way for 3 and bringing Gary Wilson, The 3rd ball is played through the slips for a single taking Wilson off of strike. The 4th delivery is again a shout for LBW looking close to out but is however given not out and then reviewed by Australia, this was the correct decision by the umpire however as the hotspot and snicko both reveal a thick inside edge. The 5th ball is struck hard through cover by Stirling and goes for 4, the final ball of the over also goes to the boundary through cover for 4 leaving Ireland needing 31 off 18 for the win. The over ends with Gary Wilson on 1 and Paul Stirling on 10. Cummins bowling figures end at 1-9 and Ireland are 2/14.

The third over was bowled by Scott Boland with Gary Wilson facing the first ball of the over, the ball is flicked to fine leg for a single, the 2nd ball is played to mid on and is a dot ball, the third ball is driven straight down the ground by Stirling and goes for 4, the 4th ball is again driven straight down the ground for 4. the 5th ball is bowled extremely wide and will be bowled again, the 5th delivery is pulled to the boundary for 4, the final ball of the over only goes for a single leaving Ireland requiring 16 from the final 12 balls, at the end of the over Gary Wilson is on 2 and Paul Stirling is on 23. with Ireland being 2-29 and Bolands figures being 0-15.
Over 4
This over was bowled by Martin Samson to Paul Stirling for the first ball, the first ball is bowled short and is blocked for a dot. the 2nd Delivery is unluckily chipped behind the stumps past Mathew Wade and reaches the boundary for 4. The 3rd ball is again short and goes to square leg after an attempted pull shot but for no run and another dot for Samson. Ireland require 12 from 9. the 4th ball is again short and is chipped to cover for a single putting Wilson on strike, the 5th ball is chipped quickly for a single to bring Stirling back on strike with 1 ball remaining in the over. The final ball is played to square leg for a dot but a fielding error causes a single to be taken leaving Ireland requiring 10 from 6, At the end of the 4th over Gary Wilson is on 3 and Paul Stirling is on 29, with Ireland being 2-36 and Samsons Bowling figures being 0-7.
Over 5
The 5th and Very Crucial final over was to be bowled by Fast bowler James Faulkner to bowl his first ball to Paul Stirling, the 1st delivery is a Yorker which is played to square leg with no run taken leaving Ireland needing 9 From 5, the 2nd Ball is played into the gap and 2 runs are scored leaving Ireland needing just 7 runs from 4 balls, with The third ball of the over Stirling attempts to pull shot the ball to the boundary for 6 but instead mistimes and is caught by Martin Samson sending him to the Pavilion for 31 and bringing Andrew Balbirnie to the crease, the game may be lost for Ireland however, after that dismissal needing 7 From 3 balls. The 4th ball, is played to deep mid off for a single which gives Balbirnie the strike with Ireland needing 6 from 2 balls! the 5th ball..hits the end of wilsons bat for a dot but with desperation runs needed Wilson calls for a run and successfully runs a single leaving Ireland needing 5 Off of the final ball A 6 WILL WIN IT, A 4 WILL DRAW IT, the Final ball of the game........IS PULLED BUT STOPPED BY SQUARE LEG THE AUSTRALIANS WIN BY 3 RUNS WHAT A FINISH.
MAN OF THE MATCH
The Man of the Match Award was presented to Mathew Wade after his 27 off just 9 Deliveries which is the only reason Australia posted the winning total of 44.
