Story Five-5 World Cup

I Tried to begin this on DBC17 and realised i did not have the time to complete this thread as i was in high school at the time! now i have finished i have more free time so am beginning this again!!

I Will be playing through a custom competition which i have named the FIVE-5 World Cup. The competition consists of 16 Teams competing in 2 Round Robins meaning each team will face each other twice! this is so i can play as each of the teams against each other atleast once. Each team will score 5 points for a win with drawn games going to a super over. After the 2 round robins 8 teams will advance to a knockout stage in which the team i play as will be randomized.

The Teams competing will be: Australia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe (Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Scotland and Papa New Guinea) *Downloaded randomly from community doubting accuracy of lineups.

Round 1 - Match 1 - Australia VS Papa New Guinea (Playing as Australia) - Innings 1
The First Round of the FIVE5 World cup gets underway with the first match between Australia and Papa New Guinea, The Toss was Won by Papa New Guinea and they elected to bat first to get the world cup underway.

Over 1
The Papa New Guinea opening pair of Tony ura and Lega Siaka come to the crease and the Australians are opening with fast bowler Mitchell Starc to start off the first game. The first ball of the innings is played by Ura to Square leg for no run. The second ball is edged by ura past the keeper for 2 keeping him on strike. 3rd ball of the over is a wide yorker which is left through to the keeper for no run. the 4th ball is again edged past the keeper but this time goes to the boundary line for the first boundary of the tournament. 5th ball is again flicked to square leg for no run. the final ball of the over is a slow bouncer from starc which is cut over square leg to the boundary for 4. At the end of the first over Papa new guinea are 0/10 with the batting scores Ura - 10(6), Siaka 0(0) And starc's figures ending at 0/10.

Over 2
The Second over is to be bowled by Leg Spinner Adam Zampa to Lega Siaka. the first ball is edged AGAIN through slips and the keeper for 2. The second ball is Switch hit by Siaka over mid on for 4! 3rd ball is played towards backward point for 2. the 4th is blocked by siaka for no run. The 4th ball is edged yet again to slips but is this time caught by Steve Smith Dismissing Lega siaka for 8 off 5 balls bringing Assad Vala to the crease. the final ball is played straight down the field for 1. At the end of the Second over Papa new Guinea are 1/19 with Ura - 10(6) and Vala - 1(1) and Zampa's figures ending at 1/9.

Over 3
The Third over is bowled by Pat Cummins. 1st ball is a bouncer blocked towards mid on for no run. Second ball edged through gully for 4. 3rd ball flicked to square leg for a single. 4th ball is a full toss by cummins which is only played to mid on for no run. 5th ball is a yorker on the legs which is blocked for no run. 6th ball is again a yorker blocked for no run. At the end of the 3rd Papa New Guinea are 1/24 with Ura - 10(9) and Vala - 6 (4) with Pat cummins ending at 0/5

Over 4
The Fourth Over was bowled by Glen Maxwell. the first ball is an attempted cut shot missed and through to the keeper for no run. the second ball is flicked towards the fielder at square leg but the ball just falls short and a single is taken. the 3rd ball is played high over cover and goes for a big 6. 4th ball is played over mid wicket for a huge 96m six! 5th is played along the ground towards cover this time only a single. the final ball of the over is lobbed over mid on for 4. At the end of the 4th Papa New Guinea looking comfortable with 1/42 with Ura - 23(12) and Vala - 11(7). and Maxwell's figures ending at 0/18

Over 5
The Final over is to be bowled by Mitch Marsh. 1st is played past the fielder at mid wicket for 4. 2nd is edged between the keeper and slip however bounces and is caught by the keeper by diving for no run. The 3rd is hit over the head of the fielder at backward point and goes for 4. 4th is flicked over the head of the slip fielder and goes again to the boundary for 4. 5th is blocked to mid on for no run. The final ball of the over is flicked over Square leg for 6 to end the innings. Mitch Marsh's Bowling figures end at 0/18. With ura - 41*(18) and Vala - 11*(7)

At the end of the innings Papa New Guinea finish at 1/60 with Tony Ura being the highest run with 41* and the best bowler for the Australians being Adam Zampa at 1-9. The Australians will be chasing a total of 61 to win!.

The Australians are chasing 61 for victory can they get it done??

Over 1
The two Australian openers David Warner and Aaron finch make their way out to the middle to get the second innings underway. The first over will be bowled by pace bowler Norman Vanua to David Warner. the first ball is played along the ground to mid on for a single to get Warner off the mark. The 2nd is flicked off the leg and goes over the fielder at square leg for 6!. 3rd is played along the ground to mid off for no run. 4th is attempted to be swept and is missed and goes through to the keeper for no run. The 5th is reverse swept through backward point to the boundary for 4. 6th is hit in the air over mid off for 6. At the end of the first over Australia is 0/17 with Warner - 1(1) and Finch - 16(5) and Vanua's bowling stats are 0/17. Australia requires 43 runs off 4 overs to win.

Over 2
The 2nd over will be bowled by Pace bowler Chad soper. 1st ball is played to backward point for a quick single. 2nd is played along the ground straight down the field for 4. the 3rd ball is attempted to be driven straight down the field but is missed and goes through to the keeper for no run. 4th ball is off the batsman leg and the batsman decide to run a quick risky single but get home safe for 1lb. 5th is swept and a single is taken. Final ball of the over is driven straight down the field for 4. At the end of the 2nd over Australia is 0/28 with Warner - 3(3) and Finch - 24(9) with Soper's figures ending at 0/10. Australia require 32 off 3.

Over 3
The 3rd over will be bowled by John Reva. 1st ball goes over mid off for 6. 2nd is played through cover for 4. 3rd is an attempted bouncer which is pulled to the boundary for a HUGE 160m 6!. 4th is played to square leg for a single. The 5th ball was attempted to be reverse swept to a Vale at square leg and Aaron finch is dismissed for 24 off 10 balls bringing steve smith to the crease. The final ball of the over is played through mid off along the ground for 4. At the end of the over Australia is 1/49 with Warner - 20(7) and Smith - 4(1) and Reva's figures ending at 1/21. Australia require 11 runs to win off 2 overs.

Over 4
The 4th over will be bowled by Willie Gavera. 1st ball is played along the ground for a single. 2nd is driven straight down the field for 4. 3rd is played over square leg to the boundary for 6. SCORES ARE LEVEL. 4th ball of the over is edged to the boundary through the slip and keeper for 4. THATS IT THE AUSTRALIANS HAVE WON. at the end of the innings Warner - 21*(8) and Smith - 18*(4)

Round 1 - Match 2 - Afghanistan vs Scotland (Playing as Scotland) - Innings 1
Second match of the first round is underway with Afghanistan winning the toss and electing to bat first.

Over 1
Afghanistan's two opening batsman Noor Ali Zadran and Javed Ahmadi making their way to the middle with Mark Watt to open the bowling for Scotland. 1st ball is bowled down the leg side and is declared a wide. 2nd ball is blocked back to the bolwer for no run. 3rd ball is flicked off the leg towards square leg and is caught by the fielder dismissing Zadran for 0(2) bringing Asghar Stanikzai out to the middle. 4th ball is hit over mid on for a 6. 5th ball hits the batsman on the pads with the umpire giving not out with the hawkeye showing the ball missing the wickets. 6th ball is hit to cover for a single. 7th is edged through slip for 4. At the end of the 1st Afghanistan are 1/12 with Ahmadi - 7(3) and Asghar - 0(2) with Watts bowling figures ending at 1/12.

Dude, why you gotta be a clown? People enjoy games in different ways, both playing and writing.

If it's not your cup of tea to play the AI, go do something else. Don't be negative towards how other people enjoy their game though
