After a long discussion among staff we have decided to remove several things from the site that have been causing some problems.

First of all post count is no longer displayed beside someone's name. You should not be worried about how many posts you have, you should care about the quality and helpfulness of your posts in adding to discussion. New measures will be on their way shortly to help people identify members who post well, and reward people for their contribution to this site. Post count information is still available on your profile.

Secondly, as a result of the first change the Birthdays and Milestones thread has been renamed Celebrations and it will now have a broader scope. The current Milestones thread has been closed, as they are not the type of milestones we want to have posted on this site, there is no purpose in telling people you have 1000 posts, it doesn't matter.

What does matter however are events in your life, such as birthdays or personal achievements like getting a new job. Some threads that would have gone in General Chat will now go in Celebrations, as they are things that are worthy of being celebrated.

Thirdly, reputation levels will no longer be displayed beside posts and negative reputation giving has been removed (a negative rep will now result in a neutral rep (the grey ones)). This was done as rep seems to no longer be an indicator of the quality and helpfulness of someone's posting, as too often it is used as a means of off topic communication.

We are keeping the reputation system in place so that off topic communication can continue to be made without it filling up the forum, but the values will now be insignificant.

Fourth, vCash has been moved out of the main post section to the drop down menu that appears when clicking someone's name. Clicking the link for someone's vCash will take you to the Casino's donate page.

Finally, we encourage your feedback on these changes and any suggestions for future ones. PlanetCricket wants to ensure that people enjoy coming to this forum and posting here, it is what makes for a good community. People posting to boost their stats doesn't, so we want to move on from that.
