FTP: From the Pavilion general chat

Is it bad to set some of the youth batters aggressive? It worked nicely for me in Senior match but in Youth match team failed badly. Chasing a target of 300+ my team fell short by more than hundred runs :facepalm

I bought a new bowling allrounder "Screech Powers" :p Nice name eh:D...
He had a nice first game. Took 4/12 and then scored a 12* coming at number 3 at a brisk pace:banana2...
He is a FM bowler, so if i give him a lot of strength training, the would he become a Fast bowler or that would affect some other part of his skill? ATM i'm Training him as allrounder

haha. They went from 93/2 to 128 all out.

Phillips and Fiebig ripped through them with 5/32 and 3/31 respectively. Kwistel bowled extremely well taking 1/21 from his 10 overs. Apart from their opener who scored 53, only one other scored more than 20 and only 2 more scored in double figures. Now the batsman have to do their job.

AP, don't train him as an all-rounder. He has dreadful batting. Train him on bowling technique. His power is good enough.

And if you are asking whether he can change from FM to F, then no he can't no matter what training.

@ Wanderers, you are not going to be able to sell that player for $300,000. He is only a capable/capable finger spinner.

Elgin firing away. 37* off 28 as I'm 67/0, needing 62 runs from 41 overs. I really expected to lose this game.

Elgin out for 41 but this match is pretty much over at 82/1. RRR is 1.24 an over :p

Taafe 31*, Byrne 3*.

Too easy. Won by 7 wickets with 30.1 overs to spare.

1. Elgin 41
2. Taafe 33
3. Byrne 17
4. O'Leary 12*
5. Ali 19*

End of over 15 (17 runs) - Saurashtra Lions(141-0) RR 9.40
A. Dugan 63 (49b) , V. Sehwag 71 (43b) , A. Drake 3-0-46-0

14.4 4 Drake to Sehwag : Too much room on offer, Sehwag frees up and cuts smack through backward point, who gives chase, but the ball beats two men in the deep.
14.3 4 Drake to Sehwag : Pushes it through a bit too wide and Sehwag reaches out, slapping it past gully.
14.2 4 Drake to Sehwag : Over pitched and expertly dealt with. Sehwag gets a good stride in and just punches it past Drake's outstretched right hand for a sweetly timed boundary. That's pure timing!

New opening partner of Sehwag playing well. Dugan is my club's Dinesh Karthik. This is his 1st half-century and if he makes century, that will be his 1st in all cricketing format.

100 partnership in 75 balls and 150 in 99 balls...

Playing like monsters... :happy

That is 100 runs for Sehwag (100 runs, 66b, 6x4, 2x6) SR:151.52
22.4 4 Hodges to Sehwag : No point Roberts running for that. Sehwag has leant back and caressed it through the covers for four.
That is the 200 partnership (201 runs, 138b, 13x4, 4x6) SR:145.65

Brilliant Sehwag . Brilliant Ton...

Nice start to my senior match once again... 194/2 in 24 overs :p

But he's playing nicely as batter in this match too. 69(48) balls... Might score a hundred

Still. It doesn't mean you should train him as an all-rounder. You can bat him up but there's no point in training his batting.

Your going very well Wanderers.

End of over 29 (3 runs) - Saurashtra Lions(239-1) RR 8.24
G. Gambhir 0 (0b) , V. Sehwag 116 (91b) , L. Hodges 5-0-34-1

28.6 W Hodges to Dugan : That's plumb! Dugan is checking the edge of his bat as if to indicate that he got something on it, but the replays show he was nowhere near it. Off you go son!

A. Dugan lbw b. L. Hodges 111 (86b 11x4 2x6) SR:129.07

And good partnership ended...
