Yeah. Normally that takes a day or two for you to get a team. Anyway, hope you enjoy FTP. Go sign up in the PC Championship as well for fun. You might even have a challenge with Chewie.

If you buy some decent players you shouldn't have too many losses first up

But if/when you join the PC league it'll be good to see who does better out of us two

I've just thought of an idea which could be interesting.

I'm thinking that we could get 8-10 people to take part in this and have a sort of World Championship Points system like in RL. Everyone can organise a series, 3 or 5 match series (OD or T20 or maybe even Youth) with each other and depending on the strength of the other team, your points will be decided. It should work pretty easily. If only you could play more than 1 match a week (2 if you are a member), then we could get through it quickly but oh well. Anyway, throw your ideas in guys. I'm happy to open up a thread and organise things.

With 14 playing weeks in a season, here is an idea.

Off Season/1st Week - Organise first series. I think we should have 3 ODI series.
1st-4th Week Sunday - Time off for Cup matches
5th Week Sunday - 1st series, 1st ODI
6th Week Sunday - 1st series, 2nd ODI
7th Week Sunday - 1st series, 3rd ODI
8th Week - Organise second series
8th Week Sunday - Catchup day for those who were still in Cup
9th Week Sunday - 2nd series, 1st ODI
10th Week Sunday - 2nd series, 2nd ODI
11th Week Sunday - 2nd series, 3rd ODI
12th Week - Organise next series
12th Week Sunday - 3rd series, 1st ODI
13th Week Sunday - 3rd series, 2nd ODI
14th Week Sunday - 3rd series, 3rd ODI


Does anyone know if you can play friendlies in the middle weekend of the offseason. If so, each of the 3rd series matches could be pushed back a week and the 12th week could be used for those who were still in the Cup earlier.

When I'm writing a long post I either do it in notepad or Word first; or do control-A and control-C a few times while writing

Yup my team's a NZ one. I won my first T20 by 133 runs so i think my tactics are fine. Lost my Youth match by 207 runs but that's because my youth haven't been trained much yet I presume.

One problem I have is that I have bought 11 players but none of them are really wicket keepers. One of them is alright at wicket keeping but he's better at bowling and he's an RF bowler so I normally use him for that.

Your T20 game was against a bot (computer controlled team with crap skills), hence the huge victory. Your OD and T20 games were against humans though. But yeah, it's your first week. You can't expect to have everything to be great in such a short time when you're playing people who may've been playing for weeks or months.

I'll join if other 170 K+ teams join. No point in me playing 100 K teams or something. But yeah, sounds like a great idea, bad luck with the post getting deleted, happens to me sometimes!

As far as building your team goes, Chewie, keep trying to get better and better players. Don't be afraid to already replace the player whom you bought a week ago if there's a better one on the TM for a decent price. At that stage you just need to keep improving your team and then when you start to get up there in divisions 2-4, start sticking with the same players and look to get your academies to higher levels.

If your academies are crap too and you plan to keep them that way, you should seriously consider older players. There's a guy called penguinissimo who had a team full of incredibly old players but was still a new player who had only started about a season or two ago and was already challenging nearly the best teams. Maybe a strategy for you to consider to get your team better in a shorter time...

In my Pavilion Cup match, I'm up against a tough team for the first round. Won the toss and elected to bat. Am currently 9/0 through 3 overs.
