The thing you need to realise is that when we see news reports from the USA, we see them from New York, California and sometimes the north east. These areas of the country are (ignoring voting for Arnie) relatively normal. The rest of the country is one of the most socially backward societies on the planet. When you look at what goes on in those parts of the country, it isn't that surprising that they voted for Bush.

Ok, I have got no idea how the American political system works and all that, I have probably said two of the dumbest things imaginable considering my knowledge of politics overall. Basically I shouldn't have made that comment in the first palce, all i'm doing now is opening my mouth to change feet.

Well, Bush claims to represent Christian and "moral" values, so he recieved the majority of the fundamentalist Christian votes. The key point for the Bush propaganda machine came when they effectively labeled John Kerry as a "flip-flopper", this especially in a time of war (caused by some flip-flopping by Bush himself) proved Kerry's downfall in the elections. In my opinion, the most devastating ad they ran against Kerry involved a quote in which Kerry stated (I'm paraphrasing) that he voted for the bill for the war in Iraq, before he voted against it. This was quickly deemed as his indecisiveness and everyone ignored that more information regarding the war (that there were no WMDs) came in after the bill for the war in Iraq was voted on and that people can change their opinions in the light of new facts (just like people can learn to pronounce words like nuclear and learn where London is on the map).

He is just simply Incompetent.I mean,i hate Howard(our Prime minister),buts he's not Incompetent,and neither(in my opinion) is Blair. America is a country i dislike,and it amuses me whenever americans try and say their country is the greatest on the planet.Being the most powerfully rich country in the world does not make you great.I think every country needs to take that,and think about it.How far should we go for power,if in the end it doesn't deliver a great country.Hopefully China thinks abaout this.

Bush got re-elected because of the war. Sure he started it, but a lot of people voted for him because they didn't think Kerry could handle the war. The fact that Democrats had one main agenda (to rid of Bush) hurt their credibility as well. I personally voted for Kerry for two main reasons:

1. I don't want that cowboy starting another war. i.e, Iran
2. Now that the Republicans have both senate and the oval office, they can pretty much do what they want. No more checks and balances.

Heck, where I live, I've seen people from almost 100 countries here. Show me another place in the world that has such diversity in a land originally formed by someone else ???

Bush won because we people believe in him. In America, the peron with the loudest speaker doesn't always win. Actions are visible to people and they voted on it.
Why do you hear so much negativity then ? Because the people who do nothing are the ones making lots of noise in the media. The real people are busy working hard.
