Online Cricket Games Owned
It seems a bit strange to discuss this when the latest game isn't even out yet, but I'm really positive about the upcoming release of International Cricket 2010 which got me thinking about upcoming games.

Now I know in comparison to other sports titles, Codies may be a little behind with the cricket games, but if the series carries on for many years in the way that FIFA etc do then these games could be real quality in the future.

It does certainly seem that there is alot of improvements been made, maybe more so offline compared to online this time.

If the next edition can add more improvements to the online aspect like saving of matches and a comprehensive quitting system plus the ability to turn the hud on or off i think the game will be pretty much top notch.

Then each year just update the squads as fifa and pes do in football games with a few tweaks here and there.= Happy days

Call me a cynic but I believe for us to get better cricket games, EA has to start producing cricket titles. I think Codies are more like Pro Evi in soccer - get fresh ideas and enhance gameplay somewhat - but ultimately it's EA who brings the game on to the next level similar to FIFA 10 or 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.

Even now if we look back at what EA did, they have the best animations for the shots in a cricket game. And it was EA who came up with the concept of "Action Cam" and "Century Stick" which Codies have implemented in a better manner.

Let's face it - if there's one single developer working on a title there's bound to be a bit of complacency. But as soon as there's competition it's generally good for the consumers :)

I am really hoping Codies and EA can do for cricket what Pro Evo and EA have done for soccer.

Ok i will talk a little about the future of codemasters
cricket games. I will not talk about ea at the moment
because they don't care about cricket. Codemasters
need to get the icc first, if they can get that then we
will all be happy. Also stick with trickstar to, they care
about cricket and if they get the icc then the future is
going to be great. Plus, rain, full stats in ic2011 is a start.:)

^^^^
One thing I would like to see is some new shot animations - they are not realistic at all - especially fwd defensive or flicks to fine & square leg. Also there's nothing like a glide to third man. Hopefully they work on realistic shot animations which are similar to EA's. I mean EA's flicks, cover drives, square drives, cuts, glide to 3rd man and backfoot drive are very very realistic.

And then there's the thing about every kind of delivery - be it full or short - played off the back foot. I am sick and tired of seeing AI, and other players, play back foot drives (cover and straight) to fairly full pitched deliveries and the ball going for 6!

Well, its obvious they have put a lot of work into IC10, and into the right areas. The stump physics for example, no two bowls will be the same! I love how this has the potential to become a franchise, the MLB SHOW of cricket games if you will. It can only get better and better, now that the pirates are gone hopefully this will be a bigger success than AC09.

You want to see future editions? buy the game and encourage your friends to.

If you pre-order from the UK the price of IC2010 is probably the cheapest I've ever seen for a brand new sports game. It'll quite possibly be twice the price over here when it's released so that's why I'm pre-ordering. And the price will probably go up from the pre-order price in 2 weeks.
But if you got no money, a cheap price wont help at all I guess :p

I was reading a preview of fifa 2011.
Now i don't like soccer to much, its ok
but they are talking about there players
playing like the real player. I hope thats
right. I would love to play like ponting or
david warner. So different, and you guys
have paul collinwood and KP. so very
different. I hope by ic2013 we will have this
in the game, its a lot of work.:):)

What we need is good AI reaction. Cricket is about tactics. AI need to be able to read and react to situations. We can't play test matches online so we need AI to really give us a challenge. I think this game will be an improvement but will probably need more developing. Personally I don't care about body shapes etcetera. I want a good tactical battle that goes down to the wire, win or lose.

Once they get the licenses then we will even see Countys :).
EA are stupid for not making cricket games.

Hey, I know this is off topic but you don't have to press the 'Enter' key after each sentence. Just pressing spacebar will suffice. Not pressing enter will not result in your post stretching to an area beyond the length of your screen. It will be automatically fixed for you to look like my post does.
