Game Crashes

I have tried installing fresh copies of C2k2 on my laptop (GForce4 - 440). I updated the drivers and changed the setting to what vineet has on his website but the game still crashes. Help!!!

I find that laptops tend to be a bit unstable when it comes to games. It could be another piece of hardware.

NHL 2003
NBA 2003
MVP Baseball
Madden 2003
work fine on my machine.

The fact that other EA Sports games work has nothing to do with anyhing. Although published by EA, Cricket 2002 is made by HB Studios.

Are you sure you've got the exact settings all correct?

Yes!

Positively, all the settings are correct.

Downloaded the new version 44.03 for GForce4 and changed the antialiazing to 2x

What i don't understand is that the game it self has the same option for full screen play. Does that have anything to do with it. I have it turned off in the game but when i turn it on the game just goes to slow motion.

Any clues.

Its anisotropic filtering not antialiasing

Set Anisotropic Filtering to On or 2x.

However notebooks have had problems even with the settings applied. You have a Geforce 4 440 Go which uses Nvidia's PowerMizer Mobile technology. Cricket2002 is not fully compliant with this specification.

Put simply, whether the game works for you properly is purely upto dumb luck.

The reason for slow motion is you're effectively using 4x antialiasing by applying FSAA in the game and windows twice. The 440 isnt powerful enough to handle that.
