General Cricket Discussion

Biggest Pet Peeve: You can’t compare batsmen from completely different eras; the game’s changed too much.
But you can use the data of comparing them to the other players in their era to create a sort of standardised metric for comparison. And as such Bradman comes out quite clearly on top on most counts

With the retirements of some stalwarts, Test cricket in India might not remain as popular. We are already looking at a secretive club that plays each other- Few more years and we might as well have Test cricket as a marquee event.

Brain Lara's comment that Test Cricket needs Virat to survive isn't wrong. There are very few cricketers passionate about Test matches. Virat was the biggest brand ambassador. With him gone, we don't have many that can talk about the format in the same manner.

prediction for Cricinfo's last 4 greatest men's T20 players:

4. Alex Hales
3. Lasith Malinga
2. Rashid Khan
1. Sunil Narine

you could very much arrange the top 3 in whatever order you wish and it'd be valid
