The German Board yesterday appointed James Sharpe to coaching the team, fixtures has been done, dates will follow soon but teams that will be played are : World Champions Italy, Argentina, Scotland, England and Wales.

We caught up with the coach ahead of Friday's big clash at San Siro with the Italians
Sky: Good evening sir
JS: Good evening for you too, thanks for having me!
Sky: Travelling isn't always easy but to make things even more worse you travelling to San Siro to play World Champions Italy
JS: No I suppose any away game is a game that will be hard especially in San Siro where the fans are really hard spoken, but in our preparations I have told the boys to calm down and to take this game really serious, this could either spark an internal feud or it could get us on the right track
Sky: Any new changes to the squad?
JS: Yes, after a long dispute over Frings contract, he has been included in the starting 11, while Ballack still retains as captain
Sky: Is it true that you are pondering the move of Torsten Frings overtaking Ballack as captain to the national side?
JS: That decision has always been a right one, Ballack has had an awfull season with Chelsea after moving from Bayern, while Frings has played his best soccer at Bremen.
Sky: anything in the formation?
JS: Ha Ha! that would be giving too much away, but our approach will be aggressive

The game will be televised live on May 18th 2007 20:00 with kick off at 21:00 live on Sky!

Italy vs Germany (San Siro)

ITALY VS GERMANY

CT: They say that San Siro is the most harsh stadium for any touring side, you may ask Manchester United in their Uefa semi-final match that one, but tonight it's Germany who makes the visit here on Italian soil to play the Azzuri

AG: Clive, a big one tonight! with over 40,000 fans cheering on the men in blue it's gonna be hard for Germany

CT: Germany are a good squad no doubt about it, but Italy for me at the moment are on song, a good Domestic season with Inter running away with the league and Roma taking the cup, Totti has been outstanding! Buffon remarkable, for the Germans, the only one we can say Schweinsteger, but a returning face of Frings makes it even more of a match, how Ballack performs that would be the question, kick off thou!

Italy starts the match and pushes it forward, it is a good quick start by them as they now are near the German goal box, they are calm as they cross but Germany deals with and sees out the trouble.

CT: The manager have made a few changes their at the back in positioning, and we can see now that they are much more orginized than before

30 min have past and still we are goalles but it's the Germans on the attack, Ballack to Frings, Frings to Klose, he lobs it up over the head of Pirlo, Podolskiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii..............................NO! just over the top

Halftime is 0-0

CT: In that first half it was all in the middle Andy

AG: You cannot! I repeat you cannot win games in the midfield, but I suppose if you are a German fan this result means good news

The second was more of the same with each side getting equal chances in clinching the match but couldn't finish off in the end it was the day of the goalkeepers as Lehmann and Buffon both respectively denied chances at both ends

CT: Not long to go with only 4 minutes of added time, Its still 0-0 as we started but surely, surely now Italy have broken away, its Totti, Gillardino, he strikes and Lehmann with an amazing safe it's booted out and there goes the whistle it as ended Italy 0 Germany 0

SKY CAUGHT UP THE MANAGER

Sky: A good result?
JS: I will take it, we play Italy another three times, a friendly at home and in other competitions...the result was good in the aspect that we've not had too much time of preperations
Sky: So you think Germany on the right track?
JS: Certainly, but we cannot look too much into this game, like you said a good result but the Germans love winning and that is what we as a team need to go figure out weve got Argentina had home next week and as previous encounters tell you, we will have to be alert!

Germany vs Argentina

Germany went back home to face the South Americans of Argentina, it was always going to be a hard match and so it was! With Germany recording a dull 0-0 against the Italians, it was surely a match the Germans needed to win against Argentina

Tension even started building up before kick off as concerned faces went across the players on the field

The half had little chances and with only a few oppurtunities waisted, Germany had the best chance of scoring

The Argentinian goalkeeper arranged his troops infront him when Ballack took the freekick, 23.6 meters away from the goal in the end it struck the wall and Argentina managed to clear with the score at halftime

GERMANY 0-0 ARGENTINA

The second was the same as the first, neither side creating any chances instead of staying on the defence, It seemed as Germany were on the verge of doing another a dull 0-0 draw with majority of German fans leaving the arena in a dissbelieve but when the oppurtunity arose Podolski headed in a cross by Sneider and left the Argentinians for dead in the 87th minute

GERMANY 1 (0) vs 0 (0) ARGENTINA

GERMANY: Podolski (87th min)

Sharpe praises Frings for keeping his troops together "it was an ill display of playing but Frings was a great asset as a captain. Podolski managed the winner in the 87th minute
