PC Version Specifications

Grand Theft Auto IV's PC Specifications will be posted here as soon as we receive word on them. The game is built for next-gen consoles however, so we can expect you will need a fairly high-spec gaming PC to play it.

Predicted Minimum Specifications (NOT OFFICIAL)
These specifications are from the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. We believe Grand Theft Auto IV will have similar, if not slightly higher minimum system requirements.

* CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 2.4 GHz or AMD(R) Athlon(TM) 64 2800+ processor or any 1.8Ghz Dual Core Processor or better supported
* RAM: 512MB RAM (768MB for Windows Vista)
* Harddrive: 8GB of free hard drive space
* Video card (generic): NVIDIA(R) Geforce(TM) 6600 or better or ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9800Pro or better

Predicted Recommended Specifications (NOT OFFICIAL)
These specifications are from the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. We believe Grand Theft Auto IV will have similar, if not slightly higher recommended system requirements.

* CPU: 2.4 GHz dual core or better is recommended
* RAM: 1GB for XP; 2GB for Vista is recommended
* Harddrive: 8GB of free hard drive space
* Video card: 3.0 Shader Support recommended. Nvidia Geforce 7800 or better or ATI Radeon X1800 or better

Remember these specs are merely speculation, not official system requirements. Stay tuned for further updates.

What would be the Spec for this game
here is what i think

min ( for Intel)
* CPU: Intel Dual Core 4 2.4 GHz
* RAM: 1GB RAM (768MB for Windows Vista)
* Harddrive: 15GB of free hard drive space
* Video card (generic): NVIDIA(R) Geforce(TM) 6600 or better or ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9800Pro or better

recommed
* CPU: 2.66 GHz dual core or better is recommended
* RAM: 2GB ram
* Harddrive: 20GB of free hard drive space
* Video card: Nvidia Geforce 9600GT Superclocked 512MB or better

I think this is a fairly good assessment, although I'd think a single 8800 card would easily be satisfactory for the highest detail.

* RAM: 1GB RAM (768MB for Windows Vista)

I think that is wrong as well, you need more RAM for Vista, not less.

Otherwise, I easily exceed recommended, so its all fine and dandy.

Such misconceptions... Ah damn. Blame Intel and other CPU makers for all that. :mad:

A quad core wouldn't change your gaming experience because the E2200 is more than enough. Your system is heavily bottlenecked by the GPU. The latest "quad core" on the block wouldn't help your cause, you just need a new GPU, which will also come pretty cheap these days. That is ofcourse, if you have a PCI-E slot...

i was planning to buy a whole new Quad core system.

since my system is a DDR 1 and don't have no PCI express slot, which sucks. since there is No more AGP card where i live, they only sell 128mb AGP video cards out here now.
where i live I can buy a whole new system for Approx: $1500us which is a very good system.
plus out here pc is Soo expensive,

There was already a thread on GTA IV, so i've merged yours with it.

It's confirmed that GTA is coming to PC, should be good - It will be interesting to see what sort of mods are made for it.

Hey thanks Madman!

Consider the MASSIVE majority don't have a blu-ray drive in their PC that's incredibly unlikely. It'll be 3 dvd's I imagine. I've seen smaller games having more discs though, games like XIII and Max Payne 2 had a good few discs.
