I am starting this topic in the wake of India winning the title this year.
I would like you members to contribute to this andpost your views on the shortest ever seen format of the game of cricket.
For those who dont know:
HKSS is a tournament which invites major countries of the world to send in their cricket teams ( these maybe second string too ).
Teams are then divided into two groups and they play each other in 5 over matches.
There are only 6 players per team including the wicket keeper and each member has to bowl.(wk exempted)
Rest rules are similar:extras...if you bowl a wide you are given a free hit off the next bowl meaning you cannot be dismissed off that delivery.

yeah thats true..
australia has'nt really sent in a strong side.
i mean india sent in the oldies and other teams sent in guys we'd heard of on the international level.

Maybe they should start with big names like symonds ,gilly and lee etc.
English could do well with KP,Freddie and Collingwood.

That would be awesome. I just wish we could get this Hong Kong thing like the Hong Kong 7s. That is a big event for rugby.

Should try experimenting with full strength teams.

or maybe even Super Max - Kiwi's version of the short game could do on an international level.

Instead of the normal 50 overs maybe these Hong Kong Sixes and Super Max can induce interest in people from other nations. And these games can be included in Commonwealth or Olympics etc.

I think Max Cricket is pretty much dead now Twenty20 is on the scene. Even New Zealand have given up on it.

Yep Twenty20 is the new MaxCricket. The Hong Kong Super 6 would be good if it got better coverage. I bearly knew about it until an article said "England beat Australia again"

Twenty20 has surely set the screen on fire .
But it needs to be played all round.

Look at the Indians...their negligence to play this version has made sure that they turned down a Twenty20 International request from England.

They'll definitely be playing one when they tour England in 2007. And probably play one the next time they tour New Zealand, South Africa or Australia too.

That what i said.
They have turned down that request .The BCCI has told the ECB a flat 'no'
for the match.

I did not mean to say so..andrew. ;)
Just putting in what I knew.

Anyways,it would be better if India plays more of Twenty20 domestically as it will help improve the all-rounder 's skills and hone them for the future
