ok, now....i wanna install the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro.
and as i'll be installing it myself, i decided to test if i could actually
remove the CPU Fan as i hadnt done it before. i dismantled my
entire cabinet except for the CPU fan and motherboard. i just
couldnt remove it.

i searched the net and tried out a few things but nothing worked..
and am lil skeptical of applying too much pressure as i dont wanna break it.

any thoughts ? suggestions ?

mine is a Core 2 duo 2.13 Ghz, intel 965 motherboard.

Removing the fan is pretty simple. Next to the CPU heatsink (commonly, wrongly known as fan) there are four pins around it. You just have to rotate those pins in the anti-clockwise direction and them give them a gentle pull. Do it with all four and pull the heatsink out. :)

Remember doing this when the PC is cool, if you try it when it was just running before it will be harder.

Ah welcome to the world of lame ass socket 775 design, fiddly at first, easy when you know how.
