hows this for a realistic game vs. AI

Played using the modified TeamAndPlayerInfo.bag as England. What's impressive is that the AI (WI) lasted 30 overs and didnt score at 20 runs an over.:)

Also, while batting, I played w/ the bowling pitch indicator off, and more importantly, no pre-meditated shots..shot selection was done at the instant of playing the ball which made it much more challenging (besides getting timing right, its not so easy to find gaps either)

great match ulukai.what changes did you make in the teamandplayerinfo.bag???

Really an impressive AI , but what changes you made

He's most probably used Lazy_chestnut's player editor and tweaked th ebatting stats. Hes right, the game is so much better with it.

How many balls was Gayle's fifty off?

It is amazing how good this player editor can make the game.

Yeah i know, but if Codemasters had bothered to tweak the batting stats ever so slightly, all this bad press would be gone, and we'd have one hell of a game on our hands. Lets hope the patch delivers. But tbh, i dont care becuase the player editor is good enough for me. :p

My modified TeamAndPlayerInfo.bag is already available in the downloads thread (match above used the second version v2 in the thread):

BTW: to clarify, I don't consistently get realistic matches such as this, but overall the gameplay is definitely better than what it originally was

Good game! So did they ever slow down after losing quick wickets? Or do they still go at around 5-6 an over? Shame my game is on PS2

alas, they never slow down after losing wickets. they continue going for their ground strokes..though, they dont play rashly either which explains why they last longer..

also, though PlayerEditor has improved the gameplay vastly, there are still a couple of simple fixes that Codies MUST have in their patch (as a lot of ppl here have mentioned) to make gameplay more consistent:
1. batsman should not lose confidence when leaving balls
2. no idiotic run-outs for the AI

these two are vital since no tweaking using PlayerEditor can fix this, and I can't tell you the no. of times I've seen the AI playing well and building a good partnership only to throw it all away with a ridiculous run out..or when I've beaten the AI batsman with a series of good deliveries only to have it genuinely leave a away ball and drop its confidence to a point after which it gets out rather easily. sucks.

realistic you say?! And that's with jimmy Anderson getting 20 not out ... hmmm ! he averages under 7 in ODIs and has a highest score of 15!

of course it can be broken ... but we've all seen Jimmy Anderson bat ... he's rubbish!! It's pretty unlikely!

Plus ... i hate the fact that to make this game playable and realistic, we essentially have to edit it to make everyone worse than they should be. That's just daft ...

You cant expect the computer to work like you simply, i mean, there was a time when tendulkar crossed 100, why didnt you ask him that you have never done so, so why did you do so now ? Cant tailenders save games for teams ?
