I have a problem and i need you guys to help me sort it out.

Since India came here i have enjoyed watching my own country lose. Australia. It is really bad. I didn't like the attitudes of some of the players and wanted us to lose so they got dropped, it turns out that only my favourites have gotten dropped, but i am finding it really hard to get excited about Australia winning and when we lose i feel happy.

When I'm watching us build a partnership I'm hoping for a wicket and when we are ripping through top orders i am annoyed and pray for the other team to make a partnership and make a contest of it.

I wanted a contest, now i am getting it but i am still sub consciously going for the opposition. i really want to go for my country but there are these negative feeling getting in my way. Please help me.

Mmmm: it is like marriage: for better or for worse you have got to stay true! Although there is nowt wrong in wanting to have good competition and to see "your" team having to face up to challenges and to maybe find new ways of approaching the way they play the game. As an England fan I have been so frustrated sometimes but I will always want them to win, always. Maybe it is different for you because the Aussies have won so much...................

I feel the same way about Watson. I want him to make a golden every innings :) and I`m proud of it!

yeah but now i quite like most of the players. I go for them all when they are playing for various domestic teams, but i like the national team losing, because the media get on their back and its controversial and i like controversy but i want it to change but it is hard

It is a real problem with the media in England. We build up people and smash them to pieces at the slightest opportunity and thrive on there so-called failures. It is usually just based on a need to sell the paper or watch their program. Success seems to sellable for a day or two whereas failure and criticism are more "profitable"! I just enjoy the game and the dynamics of the match. They all want to win and are doing their best. In the end it aint that important.

Sounds to me like you jumped on the bandwagon when Australia were a great team tbh.

You really needed a thread about this? Your 'insecurity' if you can even call it that, is just appalling because whether you support the team or not will not have an actual effect on the Australian team, or more importantly your life or the life of others. If gaining the support of people through the internet will honestly help you, then you have bigger problems to deal with. Cricket is just a sport, and it will remain that, so whether you support them or not is not a big deal to anybody and if you are trying to gain sympathy through this ordeal, then you certainly won't get it on a forum. Have a nice day now!

Total dominance in any sport is not good for the sport. It might be fun for a while watching your favourite sportsman/woman/team win all the time but if it goes on for too long it loses its shine. The is no entertainment in watching any sport if you pretty much know the outcome before the event starts. What you ideally want is a pretty successful team to watch but with the element of risk to keep the interest up. Maybe you just want to watch more interesting contests.

Get used to it. :spy

Nah seriously I think it's just a mental thing and I'm sure you'll get over it soon enough.
May I ask when did you start watching Australia play cricket? Was it during the Warne/McGrath/Hayden era or before that?

You should consult the 2 experts in this field, World Champions and braghuvaran. They might be able to help.

In your humble opinion of course.
