Duleep Trophy could be a pink ball affair next season - Times of India

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it has emerged, is now keen to try out this idea at the beginning of the next season in the Duleep Trophy. With India scheduled to play 12 Tests at home next season against New Zealand, England and Australia, the idea, if it works, may inspire the Board to ask England or Australia to play a Day Night Test with the hosts.

Its worth noting that BCCI much earlier, had experimented with playing the longer version under lights, when back in 1996-97 when Mumbai and Delhi played a Day Night Ranji Trophy final in 1997 at Gwalior. This was the first ever First-Class game played under lights. The concept however didn't seem feasible because of dew factor and moths which swarmed the playing arena.

However it seems the BCCI excited by what it saw in Adelaide, is keen to give it another go. If the Duleep Trophy experiment works, India could host a D/N test before too long.

I can't say, I don't suppose there are too many Pink Ball manufacturers around. So if I had to guess, I would say its the same people who made the ball for the 1st D/N test.
