India - We lose to lose in finals ?

Well England will find it hard to win in India, simply because they just cant play spin. But though I agree that this is a weakness and needs to be worked upon, I can bet on onething - you make this teams play on any neutral venue, and England will win comfortably (assuming no injuries to Harmison and Flintoff).

Besides if England beat Australia in the Ashes, I think its but understood that they are surely no.2 in the world, and hot on the heels of Ponting's men.

They left out Kumble to let him focus on test cricket.
Zaheer hasn't been doing so well with the new ball in ODIs. In test cricket he will not have the pressure of trying to keep the runs down early on, so he can get into form.
Balaji-I dunnow. Maybe they want to make him a test specialist? Or something off-field.
Laxman-Useless ODI player as it is. His fielding is bad, and with Dravid and Ganguly, we could do without another sheet-anchor.

loosing the pak-ind cup final last year...
loosing asia cup (almost final =P)
loosing the netherland cup final
loosing the world cup 99 final...
and a couple moore i cant remember =P

Yeah but it has also pulled off some final victories.
not like india losing every final they go to.
pakis also won the india odi series which meant a lot to them.

I haven't seen India playing with some fire-power.The players body language never looked as if they are despirate for a win.
They had this only in WC 2003.
I don't know if many non-Indians know their reason for sucess in WC 2003.
After a bad show against their opening match against Holland & very poor performance against Australia,Indian fans became very angry.They burnt effigies of Indian players & conducted a mock funarel for the Indian team.
Also Mohammad kaif's house was stonned.

The next match was against Zimbabwe,when India won comfortably.This incident had brought a magical change in the Indian team.After this they won all matches in a row till the pathatic finals.We could have won the finals.But one this changed it all.Sachin's dissmissal.He could have won the match like he did against Pakistan.

So I think we have to conduct a mock funeral for every series.

I agree with bharat and jk16_4, but mock funerals is not the answer. They should be warned that if anyone fails continously for 2-3 matches, he will loose his place in the team, be it Sachin or yuvraj or kumble or anyone.

Sometimes, i feel that they r getting so much money, that they r not focussing much on cricket.

BCCI can implement a rule saying -- if India looses a match, the players also loose their 50% of their match fee. or something similar so that they can play seriously. or BCCI should give more prize money for winning the tournament.


AS jk16_4 said, Indian team management is the worst i felt, they lack planning and the fighting spirit.They simply cant get the right team to play. too many blunders. :

Agreed. If England can win the Ashes and then retain them on the next tour of Australia, then they can make a claim to being the best in the World.

Unless Australia start playing crap that is.
