M - 88 W - 106 B Avg - 23.53 SR - 18 BBI - 4/10

  • Nehra Ji Played for several IPL franchies over th years (Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, Pune Warriors, Sunrisers Hyderabad) & his performamce overall is right up at the top amongst all Indian Pace Bowlers over the years surpassing the likes of Zaheer Khan & Bhuvi Kumar in terms of strike rate.
  • His performnaces in the IPL over the years helped him made a national comeback despite struggling with injuries over the years - First in 2009 when he played for DD where he picke up 19 wickets in 13 matches & then Playing for CSK in 2014 & 2015 Season where in 2015 Nehra Scalped 22 wickets in 16 games.
  • 2016 he won the silverware playing for Sunrisers although got injured midway in the tournament not before giving this - https://www.iplt20.com/video/6619/m...references=CRICKET_PLAYER:115,CRICKET_TEAM:62 gem of a performance defending 14 off the Last overs with MS Dhoni on strike (Pune needing 6 from 2 - the outfoxing plan to Dhoni was brilliant the previous ball Dhoni hit a six of the wide Yorker so the field was set for another such wide delivery but Nehra did was a double bluff bowling an accurate bouncer outfoxing the Master Finisher resulting him getting runout).
  • So Nehra alongside Pollock , Bumrah & Kumble are forming a formidable bowling attack (perhaps a long tail too) although Shaun Pollock is no mug with the Bat.

:ind: :wk: Wriddhiman Saha (CSK, KXIP, KKR, SRH, 120 matches)
:bat: 1,765 runs @ 23.85 (SR: 131.12, best 115*, b/6: 22.8)
:wk: 74 dismissals (55 ct, 19 st)

At the minute, I'm going to slot Saha in at eight: I feel like grabbing a world-class wicketkeeper is vital, even though Rahul's glovework is improving. Saha's batting isn't outstanding, but he does have an IPL century to his name so he may yet get promoted further up the order if I can't balance the side quite right.

ZAHEER.jpg
Zaheer Khan
The legendary left arm seamer for India had made his IPL debut in the very first match of the tournament playing for the RCB against KKR. On a forgettable day for RCB when Brendon McCullum smashed a 158*, Zaheer Khan was instrumental in keeping the flow of runs down and he also dismissed the opposition Captain in Sourav Ganguly for just 10 runs off 12 balls. His figures of 1/38 were expensive but he was possibly the best bowler that day along with left arm spinner Sunil Joshi who gave away 26 runs off his 3 overs without taking a wicket. He was traded by Mumbai Indians the next season where he formed a brilliant partnership with Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga who was possibly the best T20 bowler of that time. On lively surfaces of South Africa he got the ball to bounce and movement off the surface. He was very economical that season with an economy of just 6.76 runs per over. He took Mumbai to the Final the next season by taking some crucial wickets in important matches but unfortunately he ended on the losing side. He returned back to RCB but this time he flattered to deceive the batsman as he economy reached almost 8 runs an over. The Chinnaswamy did no justice to Zaheer as in those days it used to be a complete batting pitch. After player 3 seasons for RCB, Zak was back with Mumbai Indians. He was amongst the best bowler in the UAE-leg of 2014 IPL as he had an economy of just 6.53 runs per over and he managed to take 5 wickets in 6 games but unfortunately he got injured and missed the rest of the season. After MI he moved to the Daredevils camp. Delhi Daredevils were going through some extreme low as they finished at the bottom of the table in back to back seasons before Zaheer Khan came to the setup. Although he did not get any game till late season but he made sure that he left his impression to the owners of the franchise as he had another good season where he managed to take 7 wickets in 7 matches averaging just 23 and an economy of 6.45 runs per over. Due to lack of availability of leaders in Delhi Daredevils camp, Zaheer was offered the Captaincy in 2016 IPL which he accepted gracefully. Although by this time age had certainly started to take over him. But he still showed that dependability as he conceded just a little over 7.5 runs per over where most of the pacers in the league were going well over 8 an over. Zaheer Khan as Captain backed players youngsters and always gave them opportunities so that they give out their best. Rishabh Pant is possibly the player who never dissapointed and became a match winner for Delhi in the later years. But actually speaking Zaheer was a bowlers Captain. His bowlers were actually the one who won him matches for his team. He always asked his bowlers to bowl wicket taking deliveries even when they went for runs. He is now the bowling coach of the Mumbai Indians and under his guidance they won the 2019 IPL defending a low score against 3-time Champions Chennai Super Kings.

To add to this, Zaheer Khan have been my favourite bowler right since my childhood. I look up to him as one of the best bowler India ever had. The 2011 World Cup is one tournament which made me his fan. Back then he was very fast and accurate with some effective slower balls and a special weapon in reverse-swing under his armoury

:local: :ind: :bwl: Deepak Chahar
A swing and strike bowler in the Bhuvi mould, Deepak Chahar has been in great form in the past 2 seasons. He generally bowls his 3 overs in powerplays and mostly ends up picking a wicket or two. And considering that, his economy of 7.63 is good. He has 73% of his wickets in IPL of top order players. Also has a batting strike rate of 161. Recently, he picked up 6/7 in T20I for India
Him, Cooper and Bhajji is a very good lower order to have and add Russell and Holder, a decent enough bowling attack

I shall pick :ind::bwl:Sandeep Sharma who was Punjab's best bowler for the better part of five seasons including one where they reached the final. Hasn't yet hit those same heights in Hyderabad due to him not being played in his preferred role and the presence of a more complete version of him in Bhuvi but has still managed to claim 24 wickets across the last two seasons. His overall numbers reflect how good he was in Punjab's colours and one of the franchise's biggest mistakes might have been not retaining him at the auction.

Stats - 95 wickets @ 23.92 (4/20) with an economy of 7.81

Apologies guys, been a little busy.

I'm gonna choose Vijay Shankar and post the write-up later. That makes it two write-ups that are in pending from my side, Shankar and Dravid.
With that pick you've managed to spoil the balance of my team. :p

I'll pick Suryakumar Yadav, one of the most aggressive local batsmen who can slot in anywhere in the top or middle-order, along with Piyush Chawla who also offers a little something with the bat to go with his quality legspin which complemented Narine and played an integral role in some of KKR's successes in the league.

1) :ind: :bat: Shubman Gill
2) :tat: :ar: Sunil Narine
3) :eng: :bat: Owais Shah
