I am a new member of this community. Some might call me a n00b if they were that type of person. This poll is because I was totally disgusted by the way that Tutsi handled his grievance with Satish. He did the exact sort of thing that moderators are supposed to stop, ie, he started a flame war. This matter should have been handled privately.

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME :mad

I have no idea whether Tutsi's accusations are true or not, and nor does anyone who posted on that disgusting thread. IMHO the way this matter was handled shows that, no matter what you think of his AI patching abilities, Tutsi does not have what it takes to be a moderator. I believe we deserve better than this sort of 5h1+. Next time it might be YOU!

Anyways, please vote.

P.S. I made this a public poll so that NOONE can stack the votes with false identities.

I thought of that ... it's a problem. I just don't want ppl stacking the votes. Can you mods tell if that's happening. IP's or something? If so I'll delete it and start again.

At the risk of further antagonism, are you not doing exactly the kind of thing which you say Tutsi should not have done? Just because he is a moderator and you are not, surely does not mean that you are not both accountable to the same standard. If you have a grievance with Tutsi, by your own standard, you should take it up with him privately.

His actions were undoubtedly rather dramatic. But the plagiarism issue is a serious one that needs addressing. If we want people to continue to devote hours on end to the tasks they have willingly taken upon themselves, then it's up to the rest of us to prevent them being discouraged by people ripping-off what they have done. To that end, the 'name and shame' approach seems like a reasonable recourse in this case. I do agree with you though that it should have been a last resort after trying to sort it out privately with Satish and the Admin crew.

Sorry but I'm not prepared to allow a thread like this to remain open. As you rightly said if you have concerns please PM or e-mail the admin and keep it off the board.
