DG: Welcome to the final studiotime of the first test. This is the last chance we have to analyse the first test. In this section of studiotime, we have the normal analysis, our look at the player of the test, aswell as interviews with the 2 captains. I'm joined for the final time in this first test by David Lloyd and Michael Holding. Did England deserve the win ?

DL: They certainly did, they scored the big hundreds, posted good totals, fielded well, were well captained by Andrew Strauss and also took 20 wickets. Apart from Ian Bell, all the England batsmen looked in great touch, with Strauss looking the most impressive for me.

MH: England certainly did deserve the win, West Indies looked lazy in the field, bowling was wayward at times, no-one made a start into a hundred and there weren't many stand-out performances. It was a dissapointing start to the series for the West Indies.

DG: You talk about that failure to reach a Hundred Mikey, it could be a real problem for West Indies, if it continues, will they be worried ?

MH: I expect so, although most of the batsmen looked in touch, none of them showed the ability to take it to 3 figures. They need big performances from Ganga, Chanderpaul, Sarwan and the like, which means hitting hundreds.

DL: Its a stark contrast between the 2 sides, with England hitting 3 hundreds with Strauss, Pietersen and Collingwood hitting hundreds, and the top score from West Indies coming from Ramnaresh Sarwan, with 73. If it continues, it could become a big problem for the West Indies.

DG: We've discussed the batsmen, what about the bowlers ? There were big questions about Stephen Harmisons return to Test match cricket, how did he perform ?

DL: Very well, he took 5 wickets in the test match, he started abit wayward, with a couple down leg side but recovered as the match went on. He looked very close to the Steve Harmison we're used to seeing.

MH: He certainly did. He was running in fast, bowling fast and getting that amazing bounce that we are used to seeing from Harmison. He is very close to getting back to his best, which can only be a bad thing as far as the West Indies are concerned.

DG: Okay then, thats all the analysis we have for you. We can now go down to Ian Botham, who is down talking to West Indies captain, Ramnaresh Sarwan:

Beefy-at-the-Podium.png

IB: Evening Ronny, you must be dissapointed with the result today ?

RS: Yes, we're all extremely dissapointed with our performance with the bat, on what was a pretty cruical innings. The pitch was playing pretty well but we got out playing some stupid shots, and thats what cost us today.

IB: There has been much discussion about the West Indies players lack of ability to hit hundreds, is that concerning the team ?

RS: Not really, we're only on the 1st test and there is a long way to go yet, if we're in the same situation this time next week, there will be cause for concern, but at the moment we're not really worried. The guys look in good touch and we have faith in them.

IB: Thanks Ronny.

*Andrew Strauss walks up to the podium*

IB: Evening Andrew, the team must be very happy with that performance ?

AS: Yeh, we wanted to get off to a good start, with the new coach and all, and were detirmined to win this test. We declared at just over 350 and it really brought the best out in our bowlers. Steve and Liam bowled marvelously, taking 8 wickets between them in the 2nd innings, it was an all-round good performance from the boys.

IB: You must be especially happy with your form ?

AS: I certainly am, its always nice to hit a hundred at the start of a series, really gets you going and improves the confidence. It was also nice to make it a big hundred aswell, 169 is a pretty good start to any series, and i hope it continues.

IB: May i just let you know, that you have been awarded the player of the test, well played.

AS: Thanks, it means alot, to captain the test side, to win and to perform so well. Thanks alot.

IB: Ok, thats it from down here. Back to the studio.

---------------------------------

DG: Thanks Beefy. Strauss played brilliantly, did he deserve the POTT award ?

MH: He certainly did, his 169 was one of the best innings i've seen at the start of a series, he played marvelously well.

DL: He got my vote also, well played Andrew.

DG: Lets just take a look at Strauss' stats from this test then:

DG: Welcome to Lord's, the Home of Cricket for a special special event. We are here, live from Lords for the Sky Sports Twenty20 Big Bash, the biggest event in world cricket. We start with the build up to the event, which includes conversation with Sir Ian Botham and Twenty20 Specialist David Lloyd, Fans Corner which is predictions and fews from the fans of Big Bash and a pitch report from Ian Botham, and of course the massively important toss.

DG: Morning guys, excited to be here ?

SIB: I certainly am David, this is going to be one of the most exciting events to ever grace Sky Sports, and i am a proud to be a part of it. I expect it to be a high action thriller with lots of runs, lots of wickets and a cracking atmosphere.

DL: I have to agree with Beefy, its going to be a cracking match, its a full house here at the home of cricket, and i expect to see some amazing cricket on show.

DG: There are many great players on show, and apart from the 2 star captains, who do you expect will shine through ?

DL: I think we'll see star performances from Mohammed Ashraful and Ab De Villiers. Both are exciting batsmen, who can play the big powerful sixes and the delightful drives and flicks. They will have a big part to play for their team today.

IB: I think Lasith Malinga and Ross Taylor will shine through, Malinga, with his slingy action and amazing yorkers will bamboozle the opposition batsmen. And Taylor, with his high energy batting and powerful hitting will also show his talent.

DG: Ok, lets take one final look at the 2 teams then:
Lara's Legends:

DG: Now its time for a look into Fans Corner, a look at the predictions and views of the fans of Sky Sports Twenty20 Big Bash.

-------------------------------

Fans-Corner.png

The Fans said:
GamerKid22: Vettori's Lions have Malinga and Tait in their squad but Lara legends are a good batting side. This 20-20 bash will be great . Surely i am waiting for it . Nice work KP.

Kookaburra69: Wow this looks like it will be a great match,Vettori looks to have the better team on paper.

OrderDX: i think Lara's legends will win and the most runs will be scored by Brian Lara

Griffo: the battle between the lara batsmen and vettori bowlers will be very interesting

PhilD123:Can't wait for the big bash. I fancy Lara himself to get the most runs but for Vettori's Lions to win by 20 runs due to a much stronger bowling attack. Great work!

Highlander999: I think Lara's Lions will win

OrderDX: Good win for England can't wait for the Twenty20 match!

----------------------------------------

DG: That was the views of the fans in fans corner, they all seem very excited by this game. Lets hope it lives up to expectations. Before we get to the match, we have to go down to pitchside with Ian Botham for Pitch Report and the Toss.

--------------------------

Pitchside-1.png

IB: Welcome down to pitchside, we are set for the toss in a few minutes but first we have to look at the pitch. Its a perfect pitch for Twenty20, great for batting, but just enough in it for the bowlers to feel like they have a chance. If they hit the right areas they could give the batsmen more of a problem than they expect, however, if I won the toss i would bat first.

Pitch-Report.png

IB: Now to the toss. I'm joined by the team captains Brian Lara and Daniel Vettori and match referee Ranjan Madugalle.

IB: The coin is in the air, Vettori shouts heads.

RM: It's a heads, Daniel you have won the toss.

IB: Ok Daniel, you've won the toss, what are you going to do ?

DV: We're gonna have a bat mate, the pitch looks in fine knick and great for batting, we hope to post a big total and then bowl them out later in the afternoon.

IB: How does it feel for you to be involved in such a special event ?

DV: Oh, its amazing, i never thought i'd be considered for the second captaincy role, its great.

IB: Ok, thanks Daniel. Brian, dissapointed to lose the toss ?

BL: A little, we would have wanted to bat first on here, it looks a good wicket, but it might do a little up front. We're not too down hearted.

IB: You must be thrilled to be back in the game so quickly after retiring ?

BL: It is great to be back, and on such a big occassion aswell. I'm hoping for a cracking game here today, a big spectacle for the fans.

IB: Ok, thanks Brian. So Vettori's Lions have won the toss and they will bat first. Back to the studio.
--------------------------

DG: Thanks Ian. Thats all we have time for in the studio. Join us for Live Coverage of the match after the break.

Vettoris lions will take this easy with a score around the 220mark and Laras legends will get to about 200.

Awesome graphics!

Well said Phil. Vettori's team need to score quickly without loosing wickets.

Cheers for more great comments, expect another update probably tommorow, i have cricket training tonight. You're right, vettori's lions need to keep wickets in tact, the tail is almost in, but Bravo is going very well, first international twenty20 hundred on the cards ?
