KP Gone for the Ashes

Nice. Real nice.

Now just Freddie and the Ashes will be ours.

He wasn't playing well anyway and with an achilles injury, his performances would have just got worse. Ian Bell will get ***** by a Mitchell Johnson ball 13-feet wide of the stumps as he dabs it to gully.

To be honest, me don't have many options that wouldn't prove risks. Bell's a bottler. Shah has such an awkward technique that he is physically tired by the time he has reached 30 and Rob Key hasn't play for us in 5 years.

Key is most deserving, though.

Rob Key has just hit 123 before being runout backing up and 270* in his last two championship innings, but I'd be surprised if they go with him.

Would love to see Vaughan back...I want him to quit like Nasser did.But I dont think it seems plausible now but either way we shall win the ashes.Losing KP is a blow but not a major one as we have enough bench strength to compensate the loss.

We had enough probs at number 3 without needing a new number 4. Assuming Vaughan is unavailable then I might go with Bell at 3 and Hildreth at 4. Form has to count for something.

I would stick with Robert Key coz he can be effective in test matches and has scored heavily in the past including a double hundred against a decent west Indian team.Lets not forget his impressive first class record as well..

You are forgetting Colin, that the England selectors always pick players based on last season's form, not current form.

Oh Colin, you do now how to please me orally.

I agree, I'd love to see Hildreth in the team. As much as i would also like to see Vaughan back, i can't see that happening.

Knowing England, they will pick Bell, but i hope they don't.

When I see this thread title I just have this image of Pietersen running, grabbing the urn from its little place and then running away with it.. maybe to stanford? Or back to SA and this was all part of his plan!

massive blow to england, the presence of kp makes a huge difference, would be great to see vaughan back from retirement even though it ll be bell playing in all probability

Why do you have such thoughts ? Are you saying Pietersen is a traitor ?

it's just the way he has worded it.. KP, Gone for the Ashes!
