Krejza hopes for more doosra victims

From the way the keeper was moving it looked as if he knew that ball was coming. It couldn't have been the slider, it spun too big for that. Perhaps it was either the standard leggie or an orthodox spinner, Vettori style.

it did hit a crack but it must have been still spinning that way.

if he could re-produce that much spin off any deck, both ways he'd be unplayable, even if he pre-warned the batsman he was going to bowl it. You'd struggle to find a muralitharan doosra that turned that much.

I guess it could have been a top spinner that, coming from round the wicket might have been slightly angling in anyway when it kicked off an uneven piece of ground.

It's hard to say, because any leggie would be happy with that trajectory out of the rough.

Umm... spin bowlers have a lot in their armory than what they are willing to showcase on the international stage. Krejza may well have a different technique to the doosra, but it will be useless unless he perfects it to a state where he can deliver it when he wants to. We saw one example of it working, but we have no idea how many times he tried to bowl that ball in that innings and didn't succeed at it.

Yeah he said he'd been bowling it the whole innings, but most of the time they were either full tosses or didn't work.

I tried to bowl doosra's in the nets many times, it doesn't matter how I bowled it, it always spun like an offy :doh

The only way I can spin it "the other way", is by changing my delivery midway from an offy to a leggy.

That works I suppose, as long as you can disguise it right. The annoying thing is sometimes my doosra or my leggie makes a different sound.

Most of the time I just bowl standard orthodox finger spin ala Daniel Vettori, or slow spinning leg cutters....

But I'm a fast bowler in matches. Only practising spin so I can concentrate on my batting and still bowl part time.

I bowl my offies using a rounder arm with only 1 finger (like Clarke), my leggies are bowled with an upright arm and I cut the the ball sideways rather than using my wrists.

I can sometimes get a lot of drift with my offies whilst I never get any drift with my leggies.

Bahaha, I can bowl a straight-arm doosra :p

I can bowl the offbreak, topspinner, doosra and my own invention of a back spinner with a straight arm.

Doesn't mean I'm any good at them. :( But it is possible!

With more match practice he is bound to get it landing 70% of the time which would be about right for him to be confident in it.

Is it me or am I the only one finding this funny :laugh
