Explanation on pitch types

:bwl::down: Damp/Sticky - Massively in favor of bowlers and an absolute nightmare to bat on, unless you're Victor Trumper.
:left::right: Dusty - Plenty of turn on offer for spinners and a good place to bat for spin-savvy batsmen. Good pace bowlers are still likely to thrive.
:ar::up: Evenly balanced - Provides an evenly balanced contest for all disciplines.
:bat::left: Flat - A batsman-friendly pitch which provides little or no assistance to bowlers. Expect big totals.
:bwl::up: Green - A lot of movement on offer early on, which makes it ideal for bowlers capable of swinging the ball. Batting expected to become easier as the match progresses.
:ar::left: Hard - Ideal conditions for batting. Good deal of bounce on offer for fast bowlers as well. Could go either way
:right::left: Dry/Slow - Ideal for slow and spin bowlers as the name suggests. Sometimes quite difficult to bat on.
:down::down: Poor - Uneven bounce and a huge amount of turn on offer for spinners. Expect a slow hard grind where most batsmen rarely score at above 2 an over.

Having let his side down in clutch situations on two previous occasions during the competition which resulted in their missing out on the title despite possessing the best lineup on paper, Clyde Walcott was third time lucky and managed to take them all they way this time with an unbeaten 81 off 90 balls. His was the calming influence Karachi needed after the early fireworks from the likes of Don Bradman, John Davison and Herschelle Gibbs which left them in a pretty strong position to begin with, and they brought up victory with nearly 4 overs to spare when David Wiese finished the game in style with a six to secure a 3rd place finish.​
