Story Living with India

I'm not a big fan of the pace attack in the ODIs. Zaheer Khan does not take many ODI wickets and Sreesanth & RP Singh are too expensive. Get Pathan in there!:)

Good win for India but i want to see Ganguly in the squad. Great innings by Dravid :clap. I hope that India will do a complete whitewash in ODI's as well :).

Great story and great presentation mate :)

Lee payne is very innovative coach. He has dropped Sachin down the order and gave him new role of finisher of the game. But collapse from England was not unexpected. They have been doing this for ages. With such strong batting lineup I dont see any reason for India to loose this series. I say bring on Aussies.

Nice to see India winning. Loving your presentation mate, simple and professional. Colors go easy on my eyes too.

Cheers to Mr. Payne for making India play to its potential!

Nice game for India! The team looks good under the new coach!

Finally, I believe I deserve praise for my work so far.

So, in all ODIs, you think the fast bowlers should have Pathan and Patel in it.

new coach seems to have an unbeatable indian side

I get the most out of my players!

To tell you the truth, I did have a look at Ganguly for the ODI squad but he was injured.

Thanks, I have done some more work with the batting order in the later ODIs.

Cheers to Mr. Payne for making India play to its potential!

Let's hope it continues!

There has been a problem. I can only see the results of the remaining ODIs, not the scorecards or other information. So, a summary of the other matches is here.

India claim one day series win

England v India, ODIs

sachin_rahul_multan_060216.jpg

India completed a hugely successful tour by winning the one day international series against England 4-1.

2nd ODI, Edgbaston

India came out on top in a thriller. The tourists won by just 24 runs as Sreesanth took a 5fer.

3rd ODI, The Oval

The away team snatched a 2 wicket win thanks to a century from Yuvraj Singh. The victory sealed the ODI series.

4th ODI, Headingley

England won their first match of the tour by just 3 wickets.

5th ODI, Old Trafford

India were the better team all round and finished the tour of England with a 5 wicket win.

The tour of England finished with India winning all three of their tour matches, all four tests, and four of the five ODIs. This was the first tour for Lee Payne as coach, and it should have dispelled any doubts about his appointment.

Peter Moores sacked

The England and Wales Cricket Board sacked the national coach Peter Moores after a disastrous home series against India.

50 year old Australian Greg Sheppherd has taken over after leaving his position as the coach of domestic team Victoria.

Has Payne reacted to pressure?

Lee Payne has selected his India squad to play against Zimbabwe in 3 ODIs, but with two of these matches being played in Kolkata, and Sourav Ganguly finding himself back in the fold, has the so far infallible coach reacted to the threat of a rebellion from the home crowd?

_42694747_ganguly_afp300.jpg

Sourav Ganguly is back in the India squad

It took Payne, 25, a lot of guts to drop Ganguly from the national set up in his first ever squad. Had India lost to England, however, he would have faced a barrage of criticism and the decision would have been blamed for the whole thing. In fact, he might have handed in his resignation already, so lethal are the Indian fans and the media.

Thankfully, he saw them thrash his compatriots 4-0 in the four Tests and 4-1 in the five ODIs, allowing him to avoid such difficulties.

Even with the team on top of their game, the home fans of Ganguly, in Kolkata, will seem to only rest when there is a Bengali in the national side.

Now, on his first trip to Kolkata, the 35 year old finds himself back. Was this a case of being afraid of a mob? Not according to the man in charge.

"No, that isn't the case. Without causing offence to Zimbabwe, the upcoming series in Australia will be more important to us. We feel it is a good time to experiment with the players and determine our best eleven for the tour."

So, Payne is of the opinion the Australia tour which follows the series is of more importance to India than this ODI series. He is of course, right. There will always be questions, however, that maybe this is a bit too much of a coincidence.

Good you included Ganguly mate, or you would have been dead in Kolkata :p. My prediction is that India will win (after thinking long and hard :p)

You can give it to me already. It will be 3-0 for India.

Give your fast bowlers some rest. They bowl huge amount of overs :p.

Let's hope you haven't reacted to the pressure. I think you will beat Zimbabwe easily, but don't right them off just yet. 2-1 to India is my predicition.

That was what the article was trying to allude to - did the coach select him to give him some practice (the quote suggests this) or did he select him to avoid Ganguly's supporters in Kolkata?

Good to see Ganguly back in the squad! India will definitely win the series!

Great presentation!

India will win 3-0

WHAT THE HELL WHY IS OJHA NOT THERE

Obviously some of the fast bowlers will have to play. They were given some rest in the ODIs in England.

Ojha, as I have said before, does not appear to be a one day bowler.

Let's hope you haven't reacted to the pressure. I think you will beat Zimbabwe easily, but don't right them off just yet. 2-1 to India is my predicition.

Good squad you have there, nice to see Ganguly picked.

I predict drawn series 1-1 just to be different

I am surprised you expect Zimbabwe to beat 'unbeatable' India!
