Hello there! I've been looking around for some 'local South African' music. You see I was watching Live 8 a while ago, and I saw this local South African band, playing traditional music, pull of some really sweet licks. So if anyone is privy to some good South African local shiznitz, give me a holla! I would be much appreciative. :hpraise

There really is a whole bunch of SA bands, im not quite sure who you are looking for but I can rattle of some bands for you anyway.

The Parlotones
Seether
Tweak
The Finkelstiens
Mandoza
Freshly Ground
Prime Circle
Mafikizolo

If you could guide me a little closer to who it could be I could be of much greater help.

Parlotones are great, I used Louder than bombs for my podcast intro as it is on Podsafe network

That really isn't the best they can muster for sure, the two singles from their latest CD are the best of their work I have heard to date being, Here Comes A Man and Colourful. I rate the Finks as highly as I do The Parlotones, and would reccomend Fokofpolisiekar, even if you wont understand a word they say lol.

Unfortunately I have been unable to get hold of any others, but i like that song

Hey max did you hear what fokofpolisiekar did?

Well they said they don't believe in God. And a lot of other stuff I would rather not talk about.

Yeah, stuff like Mafikizolo; that's what I'm looking for. Thanks!
