MAC OS X

How do you play games on MAC OS X though? Like Doom 3, Half life 2, Cricket 2005 wouldn't run on that would it?

The newer generation of Apple's operating systems come with a "windows" emulation mode. You change a few settings, restart the computer and presto! you're all set to run windows software.

But, obviously, support for all windows software will be scratchy as is the case with all emulation software. This is especially true of software coded by individual programmers and hobbyists.

Incidentally though, id software releases almost all its games in MAC versions too, so atleast as far as doom 3 is concerned, you shouldn't have many problems playing it on the OS X.

Also, now that it is running on an intel box, windows software can be ported to OS X with much greater ease than earlier, when MAC was using a G processor.

Since u mention it, someone ran Doom 3 at 240 fps on a Mac running on Intel Duo core 2.0 GHz processors.

It looks good as always but I don't think I would ever shift to Mac. Microsoft has got me hooked onto their program so it's hard to skip one of their versions for a Mac. Thats just my personal preference I'm sure others will feel differently.

Actually Boot Camp, the stuff that does that is software that lets you repartition your intel mac and then install a full version of windows (you have to own a licence for it) which you can reboot into or choose at startup. There is no emulation involved.
I am a big fan of macs though, but they have always been too expensive for me
