Yes because the number of pins in a stick of ram remains same even though the capacity increases. So it can be inserted in the same slot.

Yes it can be but another problem is chipset support limits RAM capacity.......

yeah actually i done the scan pc and it turned out ma motherboard can only have PC2700 so even if i buy PC3200 it will just downgrade so np!
