Leicestershire v Middlesex at Grace Road

Toby Radford hopes for a successful display in the first match of the season against a rejuvenated Leicestershire attack

In the first ten overs of the Middlesex's innings they are 42-0. Going at 4.2 RPO. Both Batsmen are on 20 not out. While in the Bowling side of things, Paul Nixon the captain won't be happy with the way his 2 opening bowlers have been dealt with. Esp. Dillon Du Preez going at 5 RPO in his 5 overs while Jermaine Lawson has better stats with 5-1-17-0. Udal hopes his team can carry on with the start they had to this contest

Strauss going well looks like he is in good form today

Godleman Gone for 24

Billy Godleman's innings is over by an in-swinging delivery by Lawson which looks like hit a crack in the surface and hit the batsman off stump, and Nixon gives Lawson a massive hug for that important dismissal of Godleman while the England batsman Owais Shah comes into the crease looking to make a big score to get into the reckoning for the England test squad.

Paul Nixon made a inspiring bowling change putting on Muhammad Malik on. As he got rid of dangerous looking Andrew Strauss. He bowled a full delivery outside off-stump and Strauss went for a Slog shot and horribly miscued it and it got caught by mid off. Strauss was very angry with him self as he knows that other openers around the country went his spot such as, Rob Key and Joe Denly. He scored 30 off 53 balls at a strike rate of 56.59.

After that dismissal Shah and Joyce made an unbeaten 50 stand and no further wickets fell before Lunch so at Lunch Middlesex were 117-2. So far Middlesex have an upper hand in this match as Shah still in on 31 and Joyce 26 at Lunch.
