Hello everyone,

This is my first ever post here at Planet Cricket Forums. I started playing ICC 2008 since yesterday (have most of the older versions of ICC) and in the very first first-class match I played in my opening season, I made a rather unusual record of sorts...

I chose Somerset. Normal mode.

After playing a Challenge Trophy one-dayer against Hampshire, my first First Class 4-dayer was against Lancashire.

And it was a rather unusual match...

First 8 batsmen. All scored 50s or more. 4 centurions.

I played the whole match at a single stretch. No saves in-between, nothing.

I am adding more pics as further proof...

This is the Run-rate chart of the entire match -

I declared at that score with a day and a session left, because I wanted to win the match.

And I won it.

Memorable match. The pics will stay in my computer forever, because I dont think I can repeat this feat.

Wow nice stuff mate. Was this a freak occurunce or are you really good at the game?

Well, I have been playing ICC for a long time now.

First ICC 2001, then 2002, then 2006.

I have ICC III, but didnt quite like it so never played it much. I have been playing ICC 2006 for about 3 years now. Its my favorite pastime on my computer.

I used the same techniques in ICC 2008. And they worked like a charm!

Rather simple and easy, really.

I keep the bar at 1 (Very Defensive) for the first 30 balls, then raise it to 2 bars (Defensive).

As soon as the batsman crosses 60 or more balls, I raise it to 3 bars (Normal). (Thats basically 3 runs per over)

Then I let the batsmen pace the innings according to their qualities. Aggressive batsmen score quicker (even with 3 bars), while normal & defensive batsmen maintain around 3 runs per over.

Thats it.

I ll show you another feat I achieved back in August 2004, while playing ICC 2002...

Playing as Surrey. The second season. Normal mode.

For a geeky computer cricket player in 2004, that was quite an incredible feat for me.

Same technique of play. I have never changed it since I started playing ICC from 2001.
