Well I believe it's Gilly and Hayden simply because they both can get good and also fast starts, very rarely is that Australia's 30/0 after 10 overs with those two opening.

Anyways, Gilchrist and Hayden in their peaks...

Mouth watering... I think teams were actually scared to bowl to these two at the top of the order in One Day cricket. I remember them slaughtering Zimbabwe in the '03 One Day tri series over here. That was just embarrassing at times.

Well,may be Jayasuriya and Kaluwitarana in the past,but will be Ryder and McCullum in the near future.English bowlers fear them like anything.

Ryder and McCullum will go onto being a very good opening combination, heck they already are. It's very Hayden/Gilchrist like in a way.

Nah, tbh Sachin and Sehwag the last couple of years was pretty good, but I'd have to say Jayasuriya and Kaluwitarana.

Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly

Both complemented each other so well when they were at their peaks. The best thing about them is that, they could switch their roles so seamlessly well (e.g. one day, Sachin could be the aggressor and Ganguly could be the anchor and another day, they could switch their roles and still do so well).

The best to me were Sehwag and Gambhir. They play for the same state and thus understand each other very well. Gambhir just keeps the scoreboard ticking and Sehwag ups the RR.
