MSN Virtual Earth

Microsoft answer to Google earth is here.
MSN Virtual Earth is very similar to Google earth with one major difference, MSN Virtual Earth is in 3D compared to Google earth 2D.

Microsoft also plan on making the software show side streets with all the local stores, food places and what more you will be able to look inside these stores. This will be sometime away though.

You can have 3d on google earth (you need to tick 3d buildings). Granted there isnt much 3d unless you are looking at the states but there are loads of 3d hacks for download, I downloaded a 3d MCG just today

Oh ok, well thats what I heard in a news report. MSN Virtual Earth only has 3D building for the States too. They say there will be more 3D building around the world soon.

From what I understand the 2 products are slightly different, Microsoft's being more map based where googles is more image based.

I always prefer Wikimapia to Google Earth,although the emailing concept in MSN sounds promising.Wikimapia though always shows every single detail,atleast on what Ive seen of it.

MSN earth was released about a year ago, and wasn't even noteworthy

it used to eliminate buildings of it opponents!
