The format of the tournament is

At end of each round there will be a G, S, B medal awarded to the first, second and third placed teams of that round.

With that the round is over and only the medal count will be taken into account

Then this process repeats individually for each round and their medal count is added to the table.

At last after the end of 7 rounds, the 1st and 2nd placed team in this table will play in a 3-match series of finals.

Understood? If any doubts pls ask. :)

Not an ideal start for us but we faced a strong New Zealand lineup who just wanted it more.

Root and Mommsen opened up well, however Mommsen was a little slow and may need to take a more aggressive mindset into the next game.

Pietersen has looked handy in his first two games and O'Brien finished the innings off well with 2 sixes in only 5 balls.

Bowlers need to work harder, in particular the openers. Jimmy Anderson was way too expensive and Finn lacked penetration.

All in all, very happy with the bronze medal however this team has so much potential to do more

But in a multi-sports event, like the Island Games, that's not how medal counts work at all. Far more sensible would be to just use a normal points table, but I guess it's up to you. Just, as a new member, I'm trying to help you to do what will make your league most enjoyable for everyone.

NEW ZEALAND vs BRITISH ISLES

Joe Root 7.5/10

Opened the batting and scored a steady 39 off 33 balls before holing out off the bowling of Dan Vettori. Will be disappointed he didn't go on and make a big score but provided a solid foundation for the middle order hitters. Wasn't required with the ball.

Preston Mommsen 7/10
Was given the opportunity to open the batting and top scored with a lethargic 48 ball 47. Looked in good touch however needs to play with a greater sense of urgency if he wants to retain his spot at the top of the order.

Kevin Pietersen 8.5/10
The skipper led from the front scoring an unbeaten 21 off 16 balls at the number 3 spot. Also picked up the key wicket of Tom Latham and finished with match figures of 1/13 off 3 overs.

Eoin Morgan 6.5/10
Scored 19 off 16 balls and never quite looked comfortable at the crease. Will be hoping for some greater fluency next match.

Jos Buttler 0/10
Was cleaned up by Trent Boult for 1 run off 3 balls.

Kevin O'Brien 9/10
British Isles' best on ground. Scored an unbeaten 14 off of 5 balls including two towering sixes before finishing with the tidy figures of 0/19 off 4 overs. Could be a major X-Factor if he maintains his form.

Matthew Cross 3/10
Was not required with the bat however kept well and didn't allow any byes.

Stuart Broad 7.5/10
Only bowled three overs but picked up a key wicket and finished with the economic figures of 1/16. Wasn't required with the bat.

James Anderson 3/10
The pace spearhead was disappointing finishing with the expensive figures of 1/40 off 3.3 overs. Picked up the key wicket of Ross Taylor but lacked control for the majority of the innings. Needs to regain his touch for the remainder of the tournament.

Steven Finn 4/10
Worked hard without luck finishing with 0/31 off 4 overs. Took a great catch to remove Martin Guptill but needs to provide more penetration with the ball to retain his spot in the side.

George Dockrell 5/10
Struggled to bowl with the same control as he did in the pre season warm up game and finished with the unflattering figures of 1/28 off 2 overs. Will need to do more to hold his place, especially with Pietersen and O'Brien bowling well.
