ABOUT

The NatWest Island Games XVI will be held in Jersey, Channel Islands. This was the second time that the island is going to host the games, the first being in 1997.
The long event saw around 3,000 competitors from 35 islands, take part in 15 sports.

INCLUSION OF CRICKET

Cricket, the most popular team event next to football, has captured the attention of the council and hence The NatWest Island Games XVI was included with Cricket as its 15th sport.

THE MASCOT

The official mascot of the games was a real life infant silverback gorilla named Indigo who lives at Durrell Wildlife Park in Trinity, Jersey

VENUES

Farmers CC

Farmers CC in the heart of rural St Martin is the only cricket club in Jersey to boast its own ground, complete with pavilion, nets and full player facilities. Farmers CC welcomes touring sides from around the world.

FB Fields

FB Fields are located to the east of town in the parish of St Clement and are named after the benefactor Florence Boot (1863-1952), wife of Jesse Boot of Boots the Chemist fame. There is plenty of free parking near the entrance and additional parking near the Geoff Reed Table Tennis Centre. There is a grass square with an artificial pitch and two further artificial pitches.

Grainville

Grainville cricket pitch is on the northern outskirts of town between St Saviour's Parish Church and Five Oaks, next to Grainville school. There is a grass square with an artificial pitch, nets, pavilion with bar and kitchen, changing rooms and plenty of free parking. Grainville has hosted many ICC international cricket matches.

Les Quennevais

Les Quennevais playing fields are located behind Les Quennevais sports centre, next to the Railway Walk, with plenty of free parking available. There are two grass squares each with an artificial pitch, cricket nets and changing rooms and there is a cafe in the nearby sports centre.

Victoria College Field

College Field is part of Victoria College and is adjacent to the main school building on the outskirts of St Helier. It is the main site for the school's football, rugby and cricket pitches.​

• It is going to be 15 members squad.

England, Ireland and Scotland will join forces and compete as the 'British Islands' in the 16th edition of the upcoming Natwest Island Games.

The Games governing body declared that the team's 15 man squad must comprise of at least 20% Scottish and 20% Irish players to ensure all three nations are represented adequately.
