You look much improved when it comes to icons.Text is where you struggle,try not to add a text in icons.Use simple and clear fonts.
Some good fonts:Arial,Gotham,Rage italic,Levi Brush,Impact,and many more are there try Dafont.
You are doing a decent job in blending the textures,try to use a render than a stock for signatures.
For effects,try not to overdo them and play well with all the options available.

Century Gothic is the font I love the most , it's brilliant too.

@Neer , if you want to place a text then make sure the colour is white because in most of the stocks white text suits the best (while making avatar , not signature because it contains render works).
