No there arnt 1000+ registered members. Im trying to work out why it says that, I sort of think I may have imported the members from the old forum more that once.

Maybe, but you also have to pay for it which I cant afford. Ikonboard is free.

I got Ikonboard on my site - try using "Rebuild Board Stats" in the admin control panel...
