I was expected adjustments, at least to things such as font. Not just colour

Generally a skin is just that. Different colour, different graphical icons and different header.
All together it looks quite different though.

Yes and there isnt really much point in changing things for the sake of changing things. Changing the font would be pointless as this font is fine as it looks ok and most importantly its easy to read.
