That isn't how it should work, otherwise the league champions could end up in Division 2. You can't have a sponsorship deal that garuntees you Division 1 cricket next season, it's not realistic.

No not top 8 sponsor offers - top 8 finishers after season 1 - but the idea is now scrapped

I think dividing into 2 "groups" would be a good idea, however 2 "divisions" would drive people away from the league.

With the top 2 from each group going into the semi-finals and then the final.
