In the space of three rounds, we’ve gone from having zero spinners to now potentially three in the side with two of them being absolutely world class. :D

I’ll have to openly admit that this was as much about wanting to take away a spinning option from everyone requiring one as much as me wanting :saf::bwl:Imran Tahir himself as I’ve already got four bowling options lined up. Having an enthusiastic spinner like Tahir waiting on the bench to be brought in is an absolute luxury though and I can’t wait to mix the bowling lineup depending on conditions and the match-ups.

Tahir himself is no slouch though, he’d arguably walk into most other lineups and perhaps even mine come the end of the draft. No one’s bowled as few overs as he did in the 2011 WC as he did in the top 25 wicket takers for the tournament and you’d have to go all the way down to #26 and #27 to find two who did bowl less than him. Tahir himself ended up as the seventh highest wicket taker of the tournament and an absolute breakout sensation with his passion on the field alongside wickets (and two four wicket hauls) in every match he played at a very healthy economy rate. The best part about him though? He made his ODI debut in the first ever match for South Africa at the 2011 World Cup! That alone should add a X-factor to his exotic spin.

Robin Peterson the gun spinner we needed in our squad.

The 2011 world cup performance of him was just fabulous.

7 matches, 15 wickets at the average of 15.86 and economy of 4.25 and he can bat too.

The fourth highest wicket taker in the tournament along with Murali & Yuvi.

It was between him and Dhoni but I was forced to go for the latter coz I still needed a wicket-keeper.
